Sustainable buggy-whip manufacturers. Sustainable slide rulers. Some things are best put out to obsolete-pasture. Especially those that blame and attack success...
But these proposals run counter to the ideas that dominate the Johannesburg agenda, where the intellectual climate emphasizes limits on growth, trade and technology.
Why do they blame and attack success?...
As people become increasingly prosperous through their own efforts, their dependence on planners, politicians and bureaucrats dwindles as does the power of those officials.
They seek sustainable, status-quo-usurped authority -- self-proclaimed authority. They're parasites feeding off success.

I'm sick of all this BS and wasn't able to get past the second paragragh. Bottom line, as always, the world hates America. They despise our prosperity, our ingenuity, the fact that we have the balls to put it all on the line in chance that we might make it (as opposed to holding our hands out).
More of our nation must realize what a true WT Clinton really is and how he exemplifies these other countries, why those countries like him so much. Clinton can't afford to pay his attorneys, can't afford vacation sites, can't afford his home... he has lived off others his entire life, he's been holding his hand out.
I'm tired of protecting and feeding the world only to later listen to these same "hand outs" later bitch for more. Let them grow their own food and allow them to protect themselves. Eliminate the Leftist economic focus and provide us with the opportunity to prosper without all of the horrid taxes... Remember, "One nation..."

"The difference between what is seen and what is not seen was often noticed by the old economists. What is not seen is the infinite variety of individual transactions and decisions which, in a civilized society, within the framework of just and well-known laws, insure the advantage not only of the individual concerned, but of the community, and provide that general body of well-being constituting the wealth of nations. All this is blotted out by an over-riding State control, however imposing some of its manifestations may be. It is the vital creative impulse that that I deeply fear the doctrines and policy of the socialist Government have destroyed, or are rapidly destroying, in our national life. Nothing that they can plan and order and rush around enforcing will take its place. They have broken the mainspring, and until we get a new one the watch will not go." - Winston Churchill, speech, House of Commons, October 28, 1947.

Get the U.S. out of the U.N. NOW!
To: JohnHuang2
For the lurkers or few FReepers who are not educated about this "conference":
Sustainable Development = A 20% plus U.N. tax on the U.S. taxpayer for the purpose of income redistribution.
