July 6, 2002 -- The man who attacked an El Al ticket counter and killed two people Thursday was a closed-mouthed Egyptian immigrant, born on the Fourth of July, who left a string of contradictory clues to his motive.

FBI officials said they were pursuing numerous leads yesterday but were far from determining what triggered Hesham Mohamed Hedayet's rampage at Los Angeles International Airport.

"It appears he went there with the intention of killing," FBI agent Richard Garcia said.

Agent Garcia has a firm grasp of the obvious.

The FBI said Hedayet had murder in his heart when he drove 43 miles to the airport with a Glock .45 semi-automatic pistol, a Glock 9 mm pistol and a knife and approached the El Al ticket counter before noon L.A. time Thursday.

OH, so this dood didn't just want to commit an armed robbery or hold some hostages. Abso-lutely brilliant.

An Israeli official said Irvine, a Los Angeles suburb, had become a "problematic" center of anti-Israel rhetoric recently.

A formerly nice American-as-apple-pie town. Many other SoCal communities are now "problematic" Arabic centers now. Even, I've heard, nice, rich, Jewish Beverly Hills has become very Arabic. It's a wonder they're not suicide bombing Sax Fifth Avenue.

I found this quote very perplexing. I mean what a better situation for a nutball anti-Jewish, anti-American terrorist. A limo full of teen infidels(Jews and Americans). This strory just gets more bizzarre.

Earlier this summer, a 16-year-old Jewish neighbor, Kobi Metzler, hired Hedayet to drive her to her school prom - and at a "very low price."

"She came home and said, ‘Dad, this guy is so cool,' " her father recalled.

This is poorly complied from several already published reports.

Earlier this summer, a 16-year-old Jewish neighbor, Kobi Metzler, hired Hedayet to drive her to her school prom - and at a "very low price."

"She came home and said, ‘Dad, this guy is so cool,' " her father recalled.

The editor omitted the rest of this passage where the Jewish girl's father pulled rank and prohibited this man from driving her at the prom (he had a gut feeling). So ultimately he WAS NOT hired.

At least they didn't mention the distraught white man with a ponytail who recently lost his job.

Certainly Berkley with it's protests has revealed a thick anti-semetic atmosphere (not LA-LA land, but California none-the-less).

That statement exists to defuse the original alert that it was because of a disagreement at the ticket counter (as if that would justify the shooter's actions).

The top of the hour ABC radio news broadcast featured some nitwit saying, "Anybody who takes two guns and a knife into a public place is a terrorist". Note that simple possession makes you a terrorist. No mention of whether any illegal act is being performed with the objects. I suspect that many policemen are "terrorists" by this definition. A service pistol, a backup gun and a pocket knife. Quick! Arrest all of them.

It is s-o-o-o hard trying to determine if someone is a terrorist or whether he is somebody disgruntled over a marital or employment problem. If the man is a Muslim and goes into an Al-El ticket office shooting randomly, he could just be a victim of some unknown malady of American culture.

This from the organization that we rely on for security investigation and intelligence. What is the matter with this cult in the FBI? Do they have an agenda that includes the overthrow of the US? These gentlemen have to be considered anarchists, there is no reasonable excuse for their actions, other than this.

But Garcia said Hedayet's name is not on any international or domestic "watch list" and there is no clear indication that he held anti-Israel views.

No. No indication at all. Except for shooting up the ticket counter. Sheesh.
