The attempted spin in the subject Washington Post article is interesting, in that one sentence in the article, by a Gore supporter, now claims that Al Gore actually opposed this airport all along, but, gosh, golly, gee whiz, he didn't want to say anything about his position to FL voters. IMO, that spin is a crock of you-know-what that rhymes with "hit."

BTW, this Washington Post article is all over the Dem sites today. But "today" is a little late!. Where was the WP when this news was discussed way back when by NPR, New Miami Times, FREE REPUBLIC, and Dick Morris??

ROTFLAO!!!!!!!!!!

PS Why do you think the WP came out with this news now? Is it to announce to supporters of Al Gore to forget Al Gore for 2004, because, in fact, Gore LOST Florida in 2000 (and, it's pointless to keep blaming that on Jeb, anymore, folks)?

You always bring a fresh aproach to analysis, with a special emphasis on Florida. Thank you for tying all these stories together and putting an interesting theory out there for why the WP is now emphasizing this.

Thanks for all your hard work, summer!

Norris McDonald, a District of Columbia activist, said he warned Gore campaign manager Donna Brazile that Gore was losing environmentalists to Nader over such issues as Homestead.

"She said they should go [expletive] themselves," McDonald recalled. Brazile said that she did not recall the exchange but that she did tell the White House that Homestead was causing heartburn in South Florida.

I guess when you tell every other person you come in contact with "to go [expletive] themselves" it's hard to remember what you said to who.

Ole Donna is a regular on Wolf Blizter's sunday show. I wonder if Wolfie will ask her about this one. :-)

AP is still telling the world that the recount was only a partial recount (Bush/Harris Blast Mary Frances Berry) even though our Florida state constitution mandates that ALL counties recount after a close election...and AP itself printed up a handy chart (which I keep and find very helpful) showing original Nov. 7th tallies and post-confirmation tallies for each county after each county recounted. Not all counties recounted more than once, much to the dismay of those following the Dem. "Recount Primer"...that convenient text on stealing close elections by demanding recounts so ballots can be manipulated until enough votes are created...i.e. Palm Beach County. (^:

Very easy to remember baseball analogy: It is not the number of hits you get in a game, it's how many runs you score. I don't care if Algore fraudulently created 70,000,000 votes in FL, CA, NY, or where ever, if he doesn't win the majority of Electoral college votes he loses.

Or in football, five field goals and a safety doesn't beat three touchdowns. Plus it looks really bad when you lose on the native, home field.
