Right now Senate Majority Leader, Tom Daschle has at least 50 bills sitting on top of his desk. These bills have already passed through the House of Representatives and need only to be voted on in the Senate to become law.
It's partisan politics at its worst. Sen. Daschle is refusing votes on cloning, the economic stimulus package, faith-based initiatives, oil embargo protection, a bill to make our tax cuts permanent, and many more.
Tom Daschle is blocking the agenda of the American people. That's why the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is launching a national petition drive "Free the Fifty". Our goal is to personally deliver 100,000 citizen Demand Letters to Sen. Tom Daschle from concerned citizens calling on him to bring these 50 bills to a vote.
But time is short. Each of these bills will die on Daschle's desk unless they are voted on in this session of Congress. And since this is an election year, we have only a few months to get these bills through the Senate before a new Congress takes office.
From the desk of
CONGRESSMAN TOM DAVIS
Because you are standing with us to Keep The Tax Cuts, I am writing to alert you to a particularly disturbing situation that requires your help.
Right now there are 50 important bills that have already passed the House of Representatives, but are slowly dying on Senator Tom Daschle's desk -- including:
--Faith-based solutions to welfare (10 months)
--Ban all human cloning (9 months)
--Oil embargo protection bill (14 months)
--Make our tax cuts permanent (2 months)
You took a stand with me to Keep The Tax Cuts. Now, I need your help to send Tom Daschle a message that it's time to take action on these bills.
Click below to sign a DEMAND LETTER that will be delivered to the Majority Leader's office:
My plan is to rally 100,000 signed Demand Letters in the next 45 days and to personally put them on the desk of Sen. Daschle!
But we must hurry. Without your support, these bills will perish, and all the work that we have done to strengthen our families and protect our nation will be wasted.
That's why I'm counting on the overwhelming support of the American people to lead the way to victory!
Thank you for your help!
Congressman Tom Davis

That's right, he'll retire, knowing he can't win re-election, or any other election after stiffing the average American for so long. He's socked away enough money from bribes and such that he doesn't have to work, just laugh at the mess he caused for years.
Fortunately, when he's gone, we'll be spared seeing his smug little face on the TV screen every night.
Unfortunately, we'll get stuck seeing XXXXXX (insert least-favorite DemonRat jerk here) on the TV until they come up for re-election.
I remember those people. "Jeffords switch or not," the argument went, "the senators are still the same people, and they'll still vote the way they did before." But of course, as everyone with a brain realized, the new leadership would be different. Lott may have been a pussy, but at least he wasn't a pissant gremlin like Daschle is.
You weren't the only one who criticized Bush, Lott and others for the worst mistake and defeat of the Bush Presidency, so far. Working to retake the Senate should be a priority for all conservative Republicans. While the Bush administration and the Senate re-election committee remains front and center in efforts to get back a working majority in the Senate, lets not forget this is the people's fight too. Send out all the letters, emails, phone calls you can in support of Republican candidates. And now a quick word from our leader:
The only chance we have of turning this thing around is to regain control of the Senate. Keep voting out the Democrats, regain contriol, and then we can worry about the RINOs.

Yes, but I think Bush also needs to be a little more aggressive and vocal about this. In order to inspire people to fight for you, you first have to show you're willing to fight for yourself.
