FReeper Prayer request for my Father
16 JUN 2002 | gwmoore

Posted on 06/16/2002 9:39:11 AM PDT by gwmoore

I would appreciate the prayers of all FReepers and their families for my father, Mr. Charles R. Moore, who suffered a stroke or a reasonable facsimile therof, last Friday (this is a ball park figure, as I believe that the event happened Tuesday a week ago.

Dad is 85, and has been an active person his whole life, and was active until this happened. He is now 99% aphasic, and has hemiplegia on his right side. His physician who is handling the case is kind of the type of physician who, in my opinon, has not picked up a medical text nor followed the literature since He recieved his MD.

My Dad is being given a week of rehab, which, frankly, I feel is a little premature in coming. At that time, "decisions" (the MD's word) will have to be made as to what will happen next. I would like to make statements about the physician who is in charge of the case, but I don't feel like being the recipient of litigation regarding his qualifications. I will however say that my general opinion is that of things associated with ducks.

I would appreciate the prayers of FReepers and lurkers for an improvement, but, as we all know, such things are best left for our Savior and Great Physician.

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts during his time of need.

Thanks also, for all the FReepers who are Keeping the Faith for Freedom and serving our Country at home and overseas.

May God bless you all
Greg Moore

On 16 June 2002, I began this thread requesting the prayer support of FReepers whom so desired to do so, for my father, who had suffered an apparent stroke.

During the next week, it was rather like a roller coaster, sometimes good, sometimes bad, but in general, his condition deteriorated.

Mr. Charles R. Moore, my father, passed away last thursday at 1035. I feel very fortunate to have been able to be at his bedside, holding his hand, as our Lord called him home to a far better place than the one we now inhabit. His death was very peaceful and quick, and there was no suffering.

I would like to extend my personal thanks to all the wonderful Freepers who offered prayers, and extended messages of hope to my family and myself. Do not be discouraged, your prayers were, indeed, answered.

It is my personal belief that there are two types of spiritual healing, the first, where our Lord removes the illness or afflicition from the persion, and the second, where our Lord calls their soul home to him, thereby ending the suffering of the flesh. Your prayers were successful, as our Lord chose to call my father home, instead of allowing him to linger on in a state which none of us would desire.

I now know that he is carrying our fight for the restoration of our great Republic, based on strict interpretation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, in a conservative manner, on a higher level than us lowly earthbound Freepers can reach;-)

On that note, God Bless each and every one of you who offered prayer for the recovery of my father. I wish that I could thank each and every one of you personally, but 162 separate messages would be rather hard on my fingers and the time spent sitting would cause great pain to my already damaged back ;-) (yes, I'm already making excuses LOL). I would also like to thank those FReepers who sent FReepmail to me (you know who you are). Thank you and may Our Lord grant his blessings unto you for your wonderful actions.

If some of you recieve this twice, I will also post it to the FR USO Canteen ping list, as that was the list I used to first make the request.

Snow Bunny, I haven't forgotten to upload the pix of my military days for inclusion in FReeper Friday, things have just been a bit hectic around the gwmoore household for the last few days. The pictures will be provided at the earliest possible moment when I have a spare second (((((hug))))).

God Bless all of you, and all who are Keeping the Faith for Freedom at this very moment, in every corner of the globe.

Again, it has been proven that we members of Free Republic can rise to any occasion requiring FReeper help, whenever, and wherever it may occur

Thanks again, and may God Bless you all,

Greg Moore (FR=gwmoore)

I am so sorry gwmoore. My Thoughts and Prayers are with your Dad and his Loved ones. Having been there with your Dad when he passed is very special, he knows you were there. I was with both my Mom and Dad when they passed and I don't know how you are feeling...but I have an idea. Take Care

Rest In Peace Charles

Jen!! You changed your FR screen name (LOL).

Please check post 162, as the answer includes you as well...you had me worried for a moment when you had "disappeared", but I managed to track you down. I sure wouldn't want to leave you unappreciated for helping with my prayer request. (We combination pilot/communications types have a way of finding anyone, anywhere, anytime ;-)

May God bless you and yours, and thanks for Keeping the Faigh for Freedom.

Note: The TO and maintenance manual for the "Blue Bomber" will be available for reading and use very shortly (ROTFL).

(((hugs))

Prayers for you and for your family...I am so pleased, that you were able to be with your dad when he died...and were holding his hand....Its like you are holding his hand, and giving it over to God...

I was blessed to have held my dads hand as he passed, held my moms hand as she passed, and hard as it was, held one of my childrens hands when he passed on...

You are so very right, that Gods will is the higher power here, and His will is that our loved ones go to be with Him in His granted time, not ours...and I think we can take comfort in that, that nothing happens without God knowing it, and allowing it...He is the one who does know what is best...

My sympathies Greg on the loss of your father. Praise God that he is in heaven now with Jesus.

A thousand apologies about the confusion over the new name. I thought I had included you in the ping I sent out yesterday to announce it. I'm not trying to hide from you, honest. Jen

With Thy Saints give rest, O Christ, to the soul of Thy servant, where there is no pain, nor sorrowing, nor sighing, but life eternal.

Weeping o'er the grave we sing our Alleluias.

The Lord's peace and comfort be with you, gwmoore.

Greg,
I am so sorry to hear that your father died. May he rest in the peace of the bosom of Christ.

FYI, grief is a journey:
denial
bargaining
anger
depression
acceptance.

It sounds like some of that has taken place in your life already. May God walk with you and your family during this difficult time.
