Bush and Al Gore are neck and neck in the race for 18 electoral votes. That's why the Bush forces are ecstatic over the endorsement they won Sunday from the Arab-American Political Action Committee, a two-year-old organization based in Dearborn that is headed by a Democratic activist who personally favors Mr. Gore. Let's not tear each other apart over finger pointing and assigning blame. Lots of mis-steps and political considerations everywhere. Let's focus on fighting the war on radical islam.

Calling it the war on terror is like calling WW2 a war on the Blitzkrieg. Terrorism is a tactic used by states to deflect attention from their own culpability. Let's DECLARE War on our enemies; any countries you can think of?

"When he said that, I turned to my wife and said, 'Bush just won Michigan,' " David Mack, vice president of the Middle East Institute, a Washington think tank, told the Detroit Free Press.

Bush lost both the primary (to John McCain) and the general (to Al Gore) elections in Michigan.
