Veterans Town Hall Meeting: 4th Congressional District Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Decatur, is sponsoring a Town Hall meeting with local veterans May 18 at 1 p.m. at the Decatur Library Auditorium, 215 Sycamore St., Decatur. Ms. McKinney's district includes all of DeKalb County

Thanks backhoe, it's 4:00pm here, can't help but wonder how the FReepers in DeKalb have done. Sure wish I could have been there. Have you heard anything?

The freep was excellent! The RAT snuck in a lower level parking garage back door to the library so she didn't see us but I yelled "Kabul Cindy, look up here!" as she entered the building. Her father and some woman supporter of hers engaged freepers in 'conversation' calling us 'racist' 'Nazis' and 'rich white people'. Fox News caught the exchange on video.

Full report and photos will be posted soon. There were 9 freepers in attendance led by our 'fearless' leader FreedomPoster.

Watch Channel 5 news at 5 or 6 (whatever time it comes on) and Channel 11 - probably late news if there is an NBA game on. You should see and hear us. - Jen

I can understand the "white" part, but for the life of me I keep missing the "rich" part, but I am rich in love if that counts for anything. Can't stand a Nazi and racist think they are "superior" so that leaves me out, guess I could be just plain "annoying"?

You bet we will be watching for any and all news this evening, thank you so much, we are proud of our FReepers that did show up and very grateful to our leader FreedomPoster.

AFVetGal, do you have any info as to how many Veterans showed up? Please tell me she was imbarrassed by an empty room, or heckled by the ones that did show.

I really don't know how many vets attended the meeting. None of our group of 9 freepers, plus 2 future-freepers, went inside. It did not look like many people were there though. We had both entrances covered (but didn't know about the lower level back door that she slinked in through). Some of the veterans entering gave us the thumbs up, others said they were supporters of hers. I sure hope she was heckled.

Didn't see anything on Fox 5 news. They had a reporter and cameraman there, so prob will be on at 10 or 11. FreedomPoster gave interviews to Ch 5 and 11 and they filmed us chanting and with our signs.

There was also a freelance still photographer there who sells his pix mostly to magazines - so if you see any, please let us know. The Dekalb Co. community newspaper reporter was there too. So, we got some good coverage. We'll see what actually makes it into print or on the news, though.

Apple Pan Dowdy educates an Army veteran about Cynthia McKinney's record and outrageous statements. FreedomPoster created a terrific handout which we passed out to media and people who would take them.

I just want you- each of you- to know just how much I appreciate and support your efforts. Grassroots activity is so important- if everyone would howl when our so-called representatives misbehave, there'd be a lot less of it!

I think it was an effective FReep. We made her slither through the lower level entrance, and it didn;t seem like many vets were there. I'll be interested to hear how the program went and if Cynthia McKinney managed to come up with some more of her priceless brain-droppings.
