"roughly at par 25 years ago"? Utter nonsense. 50 years ago, yes. I remember a trip I made to Canada in 1977 when every night the news shows lamented another drop in the Cnadaian dollar - then (I think) in the low 80s. Despite all the agonizing then, no changes were made.

Now it is at 62%. By the way, what % of NHL players are Canadian?

Sorry, Ross. I was living in New Brunswick in 1976 and at that time the Canadian dollar was worth ~$1.03 US. Lived ten miles from the border with Maine and saw currency exchanged every day. If the CDN dollar was slipping in 1977 is was only into the mid to high 90 cents US.

Not utter nonsense. The CDN$ traded at US$1.03 in 1976. 1976 was 26 years ago, not 25, but still....
