You're no doubt familiar with the tactic from its use on many of the ballot propositions. They call the measure something like "Proposition for Safe Drinking Water for Babies," but if you read the text, the actual proposition has nothing to do with the title.

Considering what the NEA's yearly resolutions are (DNC agenda all the way), and how teachers flagrantly push what they feel like in the classroom with little resistance, what difference would this really make?
Not that I'm for it, mind you.

It is interesting how more of this kind of stuff is seeing print. Is the pendulum swinging back?

Parents need to take their kids by the hand and walk out of the government school system - leaving the union thugs with no one to talk to 'cept themselves.

This is such a tremendous problem for homeschoolers, not only in Kalifornia, but everywhere! Thanks for posting this!!

This is so sad. The US throws more taxpayer money at education than any other industrialized nation. Yet, studies indicate that our students are seriously dim in many areas.
Not just my opinion--I know many teachers who want out of the system because of the PC BS. Fact of the matter is, the US has the least educated students in the industrialized nations, and I believe the NEA is largely responsible for this situation. .

The California Teachers Association mimics that tactic to a tee when it says AB 2160 would make the "partnership stronger" between teachers and parents. The arrogance expressed here is the key to the problem with government teachers. They are not "partners" with anyone, they are employees.

Only the fruits - nuts - flakes from Kalifungus could dream up crap like this.
My boss told me last week that, "we may have a need for you to do some frequent travel to CA." My response was, "Then you also have a need to find a replacement for me - don't ask me, cuz I will not go."
The fact that I would now have to pay Kalifungus state taxes for income earned in their socialist state (company compliance wit Fed regs) is a pisser, indeed.
I just flat out refuse to cross the border and enter a demorat controlled, liberal virus breeding ground.
Except for when I take the kids to Disney Land! :)

Unless the trend can be reversed, look for more of this in the future. The bus union is playing havoc with the LA school system today.

No? It is certainly in everyone's best interest to see that the newest members of our society are well-educated. The issue here is that a teacher's union is trying to wrest away from parents their right to decide what their children are taught. While parents have the sole right to decide what their children are taught, they also have a moral responsibility to see that their children are educated, whether by themselves or by delegating that responsibility to others. Are you saying that society should have no say whatsoever in whether children are being educated? Should we just repeal child labor laws and burn down the public schools as the Libertarian Party would do?

Good question, T.P.P. One can only hope. The Sacramento Bee is as liberal and moral-liberal a rag as any out there.

And I ain't no Libertarian or RINO either.

No one is interested in whether anyone is currently not a member of a wacky ideologue party. We do note, though, when ideologues choose to carry their water for them.
