The real assault was made an hour before dawn (the Mexicans weren't idiots). Good luck making a movie with a climax nobody can see.

Gotta have Susan Sarandon, in there somewhere, but be forewarned, don't have the large tub of popcorn, when watching this movie. It will make life misarble for the theatre people! :-)

That Hollywood crowd will rewrite history to be sure.

I invite my fellow Freepers to post other casting ideas...Bobcat Goldthwaite as Jim Bowie.
For diversity...Jackie Chan as Sam Houston.
Alec Baldwin as: "The Mexican Soldier who gets his head blown off". (Any of 'em.)

Santa Ana will be the big hero. He'll be the sympathetic, very politically correct leader who was able to squash the terrible American types.

Let's just say that there's a lot of 'em in those two cities. I was questioning who really won the war.

Back in the late 70s in Dallas, Ron Howard made his first movie, Cotton Candy, at my high school. He and his whole family were very nice. I think he will do a great job with the movie. He's very talented, and he is pretty much normal.
One of his kids is even named Dallas.
I look forward to his rendition of the Alamo.

Hey, we won WWII and there's a lot of Japanese in Hawaii and a lot of Germans in the Hill Country. Are you implying we shouldn't be so hospitable to our former foes? If that's so, all folks of British descent pack your bags!

The vast majority of Japanese in Hawaii and Germans in the Hill Country (and even the large Czech contingent in West, where the kolaches and other baked goods are to die for) came into this country legally. There's not too many Canadians trying to swim the Northwest Passage to get here either (the ones that do are easy to spot - they turn blue).

"I bet they will make Davy Crockett Gay and show the US as the evil agressor :)"
. . .Ron is great. . .a real-life 'Opie'. . .doesn't abandon 'values' in his film making. . .not a Liberal's Liberal.
