How soon we forget the past! Here are some links to the "Yellow Rain/bee feces" controversy of some years ago.

Note the mideast connection- and while most of these links are straightforward, a few veer in strange and interesting areas--

And one that CNN studiously avoided when they hatched their Tailwind fiction a few years ago. There were indeed Chemical Weapons used in Laos --- lots of them and it was Ted Fonda's buddies who used them. CNN never told that story. Wonder why?

Well, I think by that time the press- most of them, anyway- had decided "we" were the Bad Guys in Vietnam, and bore a grudging admiration for our opponents. I well remember the "swarms of defecating bees" theory that was peddled until the horrors of the Iraq/Iran war came out much later.

Thanks for the bump.... just be grateful I left out most of the links I found; you don't want to know what an unfiltered search for "Yellow Rain" finds.....

If only we could recruit a flock of flying, urinating pigs, we'd have unconditional surrender inside of 24 hours.....

Thank you for the pings... and the kind words. I guess you can tell I used to write ad copy from my titles-

More seriously, while a lot of the things I cover are, naturally, subjects that interest me, I like to inform people and encourage them to educate themselves rather than rely on the filtered junk they get from the Tube or papers or magazines.

There was some excuse for being poorly informed in pre-web days- but there is no excuse now. Anyone with a phone line & computer can be a researcher at least as good as what you find in the press.

"Yellow rain" does exist -- at least in South Florida. There are not that many big thunderstorms down here, but at least three times I have had white business shirts ruined by going in the rain for only a few seconds. Small yellow stains on the sleeves would became visible the next day. Whatever it was it would not wash out -- it almost seemed like an acid burn, but I really don't know. This happened near Fort Lauderdale.

This may not be the same "yellow rain" that you are referring to, but I thought I would mention it.
