A teenage anti-Israel agitator who police say defaced a World War I memorial in New York City earlier this week has been arrested and charged after his father turned him in to police Thursday night, the NYPD says.
The 16-year-old boy is accused of defacing the 107th United States Infantry monument, located along Central Park on the Upper East Side, by spray-painting "Gaza" in red across the base of the structure.
NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations Kaz Daughtry, last night posted an image on X, formerly Twitter, of the young vandal in handcuffs sitting on a bench inside a police station. His face is blurred out.

When my daughter was still young and impressionable, I drove her to the National Cemetery here in Marietta to see all the flags on memorial day. When you drive the full circuit and see the graves from the War Between the States to the more modern conflicts, it makes an impression.

I hope that the Dad makes his son clean up the damage even if it takes days. No food or water or sleep until it is cleaned up. That is what my dad would have done to me if I f’ed up like that.
That’s a beautiful but very sad memorial.
I wanted to take my kids to see my uncle’s grave in Indiana - he was a pilot killed during WW II.
And, he was 22 years old.
So while some of these snot-nosed know-it-all spoiled brats are tearing apart our campuses, in complete and total safety, those of the same age risked and lost their lives for a far greater cause.
Vandalism like that should be removed and repaired by a professional to prevent further accidental damage to an irreplaceable monument.
There are other non critical public constructions he can clean until his fingers are sore.
If that was me, my dad would have waited for me to get out of the hospital before turning me over to the cops.
