Democrats may be the dog that caught the car: Charging Trump with 34 felonies leaves the court with no wiggle room whatsoever.

If you have been following Conservative media recently on the subject of the Donald Trump/Stormy Daniels trial in New York City, you have probably heard numerous commentators express the opinion that, even though Alvin Bragg’s case against President Donald Trump is largely falling apart, the fact that he is being tried by a highly biased jury, he will be convicted nonetheless. I can only say that if you are a Democrat you should be crossing your fingers that this does not happen. Let me explain why….

It’s very clear that the initial Democrat strategy to take down Trump was to engage in a shock and awe lawfare campaign by utilizing Democrat state and federal prosecutors to file so many criminal charges against the former president that the GOP would have no choice but to abandon him. Their miscalculation however, was confusing the weak-kneed Republican ruling class with the hardcore conservative base that had long ago realized that the deep state would do anything to maintain power—the voters consequently embraced Trump, despite the multiple charges, and handed him the party’s nomination.

Now, if Alvin Bragg had charged Trump with a single felony count of [blah, blah, blah] and a jury had convicted him, the judge in the case could have sentenced Trump to probation and a substantial fine, perhaps even requiring him not to leave the state or at least having him check-in in-person with his probation officer on a regular basis, which would have allowed Democrats to significantly impede the Trump campaign. Additionally, it would allow the Democrats to run advertisements claiming that Donald Trump was a “convicted felon.”

But because TDS is real and the concept of “nuance” is completely lost on liberals, they instead charged ahead like a bull in a china shop with 34 felony indictments

Trial judges have considerable discretion and Merchan could do as you suggest.

“... they want to extricate themselves from all this crap prior to the election.”

At some level in the rank & file FIB agents that may be happening. In our neighborhood we have two or three families that either the Dad or the Mom works for the FIB. I have met them over the years usually at the pool or a sub-division social event. I know that one of the moms who is an agent has stopped attending any events of any kind. I ran into her at the grocery store a few months ago and casually asked where had she been keeping herself? She said that the word had come down (unofficially) that implied it could be dangerous for her to let the general public know what she did and/or where she lived. So she had quietly withdrawn from local events.

No. The appeal will come after he is sentenced.

I know you're no fan of The Orange Man - but do you think he's getting railroaded?

Or is this prosecution and trial on the level, in your professional opinion?

Good to see you back, BTW.

I worked the last two censuses - but I don't think I'm going to work the next one.

I don't think the populace of normal people are happy with the federalis these days.

When Trump is elected, I want to see him establish an Office of Revenge.

Yes, we need a Revenge Czar with an attached Pinochet rotary wing division.

Maybe Stephen Miller. It would drive the Commies nuts. Well, at least until they got their free one-way ride twenty miles due east of Newport News.

No, not on the level or aboveboard. It’s a travesty of a mockery of a sham.

if Bragg is removed or significantly damaged by his anti-Trump actions in the classified documents trial,

Whaaaaa?

Brag is charging Trump with defrauding himself and paying for it as part of monthly payments. Are you talking about Smith?

Ah yes. Part of the mark of a cult is insisting on members cutting off contact with everyone outside of the cult.

Have hard core leftists gone after Aileen Cannon? I have not seen anything indicating that she’s been threatened for her recent ruling that basically threw out the Florida case.

If she dismisses the case they sure will.

And yes, they have targeted her with lawfare and massive petition and pressure campaigns for her removal. They have conducted street terror around other trials screaming loud enough to be heard inside the courtroom. They have targeted Supreme Court judges for loud protests and violent raids at their homes.
Yes, Cannon is at risk from leftists and libtards like you.

No fan of his, won’t vote for him...but yes, he is absolutely getting legally railroaded and screwed. Not even a close question.

I think this indicates where we are as a country that this can go on without someone or something putting a stop to it.

No fan of his, won’t vote for him...

I can understand this.

His only utility to me is that he forces The Enemy to expose themselves for those who want to see.

I just ignore the other stuff, because I can't read his mind to know what he's up to. He's like sandpaper on a raw wound to a lot of people.

My neighbor the blue-dog old school Democrat absolutely BRISTLES when his name comes up.

He has a similar effect on many Reagan Republicans, and I don't fault them one bit for their reaction.

I wonder if Bruce has tried to change places with the defendant and would be able to withstand all the CRUD that this defendant has had to endure>
