Russian advance blamed on Ukrainian troops rotation blunder
FT ^ | APRIL 24 2024 | Fabrice Deprez

The Ukrainian army has come under rare criticism from military analysts for allegedly bungling up a troops rotation that allowed Russia to capture 5km of land, highlighting the strains Kyiv’s forces are under as they await the arrival of fresh US aid.

Deep State, a Ukrainian analytical group with ties to the defence ministry, on Wednesday said the Russian advance late last week in the southern part of the village of Ocheretyne had been caused by a rotation that left the area unprotected.

The criticism comes a day after the US Senate approved a $61bn aid package for Kyiv which was delayed for months, forcing Ukrainian troops to ration their ammunition on the battlefield. The first arms shipments are expected in the coming weeks, with Russia vowing to intensify its attacks in the meantime and the Ukrainian leadership also acknowledging the difficult days ahead.

“The leadership of the 115th Mechanized Brigade is responsible for the collapse of the defence in the entire area, which led to significant casualties,” Deep State wrote in a report. That brigade was supposed to move in and relieve the more experienced 47th Brigade, but it failed to move in time, leaving the area unprotected.

A spokesperson for the 115th Brigade denied the allegations. “All I can say is that it’s not true, the unit did not abandon its position,” Vadym Chornyy said.

But... but... but... the EU keeps releasing press statements on their future mighty re-armament. /s
————-
The US MI guys I talked to said ( one just left NATO MI last year) the Germans are able to supply a really nice military band, Germany has storage facilities full of totally inoperable, rusting , yes rusting away armor that will take years to even tow out and recondition. The French condition was met by laughter….

Fact is our Pentagon knows US money and arms is the only thing that can remotely save the EU against Ivan, it would take years to move what is needed from the US to the EU…..and under a “wartime” scenario, much equipment would be destroyed in the 6,000 mile supply chain.

All agreed a war with Russia could only be won by deploying nukes…..

At the first sign of actual war, all those countries will eject from NATO and declare themselves neutral.

Just like Belgium did in 1936.

Also there is going to be no North American convoy system to supply Europe.

The USA built over 3000 Liberty ships to move cargo overseas.

The shipyards are gone. They closed decades ago.

Senior retired U.S. military officers I talked to yesterday at Ft Moore’s live fire event really opened my eyes….Germany’s usable tank force is numbered in the tens and twenties, Englands “ army “ is lucky to be able to deploy 6,000 front line ( combat arms, at best,) France’s condition was met by laughter…..surprisingly enough, they all mentioned Polands Army is the ONLY combat ready force available, unfortunately, it was mentioned MAYBE a dozen frontline combat arms brigades, maybe.

And all these formations rely on the West's "air superiority" doctrine...

Mocking Russia as a gas station with nukes.

And ending up as a server farm with nukes ...

Personally, I’m waiting for Venezuela to grab Guyana’s oil fields. It’ll be a new revenue stream for the Bidens, Schumers, Pelosis, and McConnells of the world. Meanwhile our grocery costs have doubled. Soon they’ll decide that we should just replace all the Abrams with Bookers, and electric Bookers at that. The people that had to live through a world war are almost gone. Unfortunately it’s our children or grandchildren who will reap the results of our governments idiocy. And it’s Fort Benning, goll damn it.

At the end of the Cold War we had Reforger which was an airlift operation.
Exercise Campaign Reforger ("REturn of FORces to GERmany") was an annual military exercise and campaign conducted by NATO during the Cold War. The exercise was intended to ensure that NATO had the ability to quickly deploy forces to West Germany in the event of a conflict with the Warsaw Pact.
I was stationed in the Azores Islands which was a middle of the North Atlantic stopover for aircraft in transit.   The had a giant hanger with coke machines down one side to give the soldiers and marines a place to stretch their legs while the aircraft were refueled and maintained.

I got to see the first flight of A-10's going over, but only from afar on top of the hill above the flight line and pads next to the Naval Air Facility.

In the Azores now we have about 100 US military personnel on station.   The US part of the Portuguese Air Base number 4 is a ghost town fallen into ruin.   Video is on YouTube.

No one actually believes in the big bad Russian scare we’re trying so hard to sell. The Euros don’t want to waste their money chasing a Cold War phantom conjured up by our IC and media they know is BS. That’s why after 2 1/2 years some nations in NATO (((still))) are not even meeting their pathetically small 2% GDP defense minimum.

In fact, Russia is a “has been” power we have been antagonizing for years because they are frankly, weak. Russia, 1/2 our military personnel, 1/10 the budget, less high tech, less industry, 40% the men reaching military age, 44% our population, less allies, weaker allies... We try to inflate them into this military giant but the numbers do not match our rhetoric.

We have been kicking the Russians around in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Venezuela, withdrew from the ballistic missile treaty unilaterally, lied about NATO East expansion and then lied about lying, routinely try to violate Montreux, ignored Minsk and then want to pretend like the Russians are the aggressor and on a world conquest while we engage in 251 various military operations around the world just since 1991.

But that said, we have a problem in Asia that is slowly becoming real. Most of our NATO allies won’t be there for us on that one. However, Korea, a real and combat ready force - more capable than all of the bigger Euro militaries will be part of that conflict. As will be Japan which is beginning to build a real military after being asleep since WWII. Finally there is Australia which has a small but very good military. Those will be the allies on our side.

https://youtu.be/agg07M0Kgrw?si=iWgveIS-OEPpebgA. The ROK military will put what you have in (((any))) Euro nation to shame. They are better equipped, better trained, far bigger (more than UK and France combined), and they have their head screwed on tight (they are a military that knows what their purpose is).

https://youtu.be/q9NPZGtvMH4?si=3wvqSrYqdRFnroyW. (Japan is creeping back onto the world stage with its military).

Your attention is in the wrong place.
