Because boatloads of Federal dollars (ie our money) goes to grants for these overpriced luxury resorts, otherwise known as universities. Each of these leading Universities obtain tons of money for scientific research from the federal government. Each such grant has a significant percentage siphoned off by the University and is used for general expenses to help support the functioning of the institution. The federal government has every reason to get involved.
Why would CNN pursue such a line of reasoning? Is it another organization under the influence of Qatar or other malign elements from the Middle East?

Another reason for the Speaker of the House to check in on Columbia University is that we just had a Congressional investigation into anti-Semitic racism that had been occurring at Universities such as Harvard, MIT and the University of Pennsylvania. A visit from a high ranking Congressman might get some action in halting the anti-Semitic racism that is breaking out now.
