Florida Gov. DeSantis Blasts House Speaker, GOP Who Voted For Ukraine Aid With No Border Concessions
Tampa Free Press ^ | April 24, 2024 | Liam Edgar

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday blasted House Speaker Mike Johnson and GOP lawmakers in Congress for handing President Joe Biden a win on foreign aid, especially in Ukraine, without wringing any new concessions from Democrats to secure America’s border.

Last weekend’s move by Johnson, said DeSantis, “was a real, real failure" that grossly betrayed GOP voters.

Many conservatives have leveled Johnson in recent days for going along with the $95 billion package that funded Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan — just as Biden and congressional Democrats wanted.

DeSantis ripped Johnson for forgetting the people who placed their faith in him and the rest of the GOP.

House Republicans “were sent there, and the No. 1 issue that our voters wanted them to address is the southern border and the massive influx of foreigners by the millions coming into this country,” said DeSantis.

“We don't know who these people (immigrants) are, and they (Republicans) basically just surrendered on the border,” he continued. “They now have no leverage to do anything on the border.”

The governor pointed out that Johnson and the GOP could have forced Biden to accept tougher border security measures in exchange for the aid for his cherished Ukraine and the others.

“I mean, it's just pathetic. I was really, really disappointed to see that they basically capitulated entirely on the border. And at this point, you're not gonna see anything done on the border for the rest of this year,” the governor added. “I think it was a real, real failure.”

I do get that Trump is trying to think ahead and hedging his bets, if it turns out he has to work with Johnson, he doesn’t have the luxury of being “pure”.

“ With Johnson and the Republicans folding like a cheap suit over border security, I feel the same way.”

Wow, one NOOB agrees with another NOOB DemocRAT INFILTRATOR that it’s great to suppress Republican votes this election year. Am I detecting a pattern here?

The Republican Party is doing a fine job by itself when it comes to demoralizing the base and suppressing Republican votes. They don’t need any help.

I see the point on top your head. If nothing else you cold vote for the people held like hostages and treated abysmally for non violent protest actions during the staged coup by Pelosi, RINOs the Biden regime on Jan 6th.

Think of some people other than yourself.

Included in the bill was roughly $4 billion for “migration and refugee assistance,” which is doled out to NGOs operating along the border and tasked with giving funds and travel assistance to illegal immigrants who have been released from federal custody. In other words, Johnson isn’t just neglecting the border crisis, he’s actively funding it.

Yeah, this is the kind of math that Trump can do.

Trump endorsing a Speaker who allowed this into the betrayal means Trump is not on our side.

For the second and final time.

The next guy may lead the House to convict him of insurrection.

This campaign continues on the hopes of that peril materializing.

The thing that DeSantis and his willfully ignorant backers choose to ignore.

and DeSantis being backed by 42 billionaires in this endless sabotage Trump campaign despite MAGA handing him an entire state-

pretty much says it all in spades and some.

and DeSantis being backed by 42 billionaires in this endless sabotage Trump campaign despite MAGA handing him an entire state-

42 billionaires who are now supporting Trump. So, take your "gotcha" and shove it. You are a hypocrite.

Every DeSantis donor was a previous Trump donor and have now become Trump donors again.

Just because you weak-minded Trump worshippers want to impugn a real conservative, DeSantis, you make it seem like taking donations from these people is a sign of something.

Well, you are wrong about many things.

What is the Republican majority in the House right now?

Hint: 1.

So? Why does that mean a Ukraine finding bill HAS to be brought to the floor, without a US border security provision attached with it?

The math is this: 1 House seat.

So because we have only 1 seat majority, Trump cannot come out and say it is a bad deal that no US border security was included?

That is textbook cowardice we expect from a politician, not from Trump.

I am sick and tired of hearing that the Republicans only have a one seat majority.

If the democrats had a one seat majority, there would be no question at all about them passing anything and everything they ever wanted or dreamed of!

I don’t care. It’s a fact.

Trump got a few things done by executive order, but name something he did that any other Republican wouldn’t have.

Brett Kavanaugh and Roe v. Wade.

The DemoNazis would have rolled any other Republican with that Kavanaugh cr@p.

I will be voting for Trump because he is far better than Biden and RFK Jr.

I'll vote for Trump, expecting that if somehow he manages to win, he'll be a lame duck for the next four years.
