Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom released an ad on Sunday showing Alabama police forcing young women to undergo pregnancy tests.
“Alabama’s abortion ban has no exceptions for rape or incest. Now, Republicans are trying to criminalize young women’s travel to receive abortion care. We cannot let them get away with this,” Newsom said on X as he shared the video.
The video features two young, 20-something women driving an SUV toward the Alabama state line.
We’re almost there. We’re gonna make it,” one woman says to the driver after looking back to see if they are being followed.
Just then, the women break into tears as an Alabama State police car blares its siren and demands they pull over.
“Trump Republicans want to criticize young Alabama women who travel for reproductive care,” the announcer says.
After the police officer asks the women to step out of the vehicle to “take a pregnancy test,” the announcer says, “Stop them by taking action.”
It then directs people to a website sponsored by California Gov. Gavin Newsom, which says the following:
Republicans are not stopping at overturning Roe vs. Wade. Now they want to lock women and girls down completely, taking away their constitutional right to travel.
Three states – Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Alabama – are considering bills that ban minors from traveling out of state to get an abortion without parental consent — no matter if it’s a case of incest or if there is abuse in the family.
These are states that basically want to imprison women and young girls. It’s a backdoor nationwide abortion ban, denying women the opportunity to go to a freedom state. Taking away the right to travel that’s guaranteed by the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Having watched it 3 or 4 times....I’d say it’s not shot in Alabama (nearing state line sign isn’t typical, you tend to have Welcome to Tenn signs on one side and Welcome to Alabama on the other side). I also look at the landscape by the highway...secondary road. That appears more to me to be southern California than Ala.
Good propaganda piece.
I’d suggest the Babylon Bee folks rig up a 60-second commercial where you are approaching from NV or AZ to the Cal state-line, and the cop pulls you over to warn of criminal theft problems, drugs and heavy taxation.
Nobody’s forcing women to have abortions either. Not yet. It’s sickening that in these politician’s heads that freedom = killing an unborn innocent. Gross.
Since Newsome can’t or won’t fix Califecal’s many serious problems, in fact making them worse, he has a sick need to criticize other states thinking that would make him look better somehow.
I want to puke when I hear these rabid women say “My body, My choice”. It’s not just their body anymore, and if they don’t want children, then DON”T GET PREGNANT!!! Birth control is cheap, even free if covered by insurance. Only dumb women get pregnant when they don’t want to, unless it’s rape, which is another matter.
This is really getting weird.
Nobody is stopping anyone from traveling to another state to get an abortion if it not legal in a state.
Due to Roe V Wade, we have abortion laws still on the books that were nullified by the Supreme Court ruling. They are a legal time capsule that point us to an America that once was and the bizzare and morally bankrupt response by abortion activists to the end of Roe V Wade really shows us how far we have fallen.
I can understand how some people could feel that abortion should be legal but I simply cannot understand how anyone can be so extreme in their support - their strident fanaticism borders on mass psychosis or mental illness.
Abortion activists have flipped from the “moderate and reasonable Pro Choice “ posturing they have been using to lull the American people into accepting abortion to the true face of abortion in America - a cold blooded determination and enthusiasm to terminate the existence of unborn children at leisure right up until the moment of birth of a full term pregnancy .
And I cannot believe how many Americans are buying this manipulative propaganda
Wow, the Kool-Aid is getting stronger.
Well, the Alabama Atty General is providing some ammunition. He is talking about those helping a woman who travels out of state, but it’s still trying to restrict travel for abortion.
“An elective abortion performed in Alabama would be a criminal offense; thus, a conspiracy formed in the State to have that same act performed outside the State is illegal,” the attorney general’s office wrote in the court filing.
His office wrote that the Alabama Legislature categorized abortion as among the highest wrongs, “comparing it to murder” and “Alabama can criminalize Alabama-based conspiracies to commit abortions elsewhere.”
Newsome needs to be sued.
Don't forget gun control.
Alabama should run ads showing that California is trying to pass laws to make it legal to have sex with kids.
The commercial is pure bunk. The twenty something year old women would not be committing any offence since they are not minors. If they were minors, all they need is parental consent.
For the pinheads who argue that a parent may be the one that got her pregnant, then secretly allowing the abortion only furthers the abuse. Further, a parent approving the procedure is more likely to have raped the child than an unknowing parent.
EC
The whole subject is moot. Governments won’t be able to stop the abortion pill from distribution.
Twenty something are not minors.🙄
How about forcing 14 year old girls to shower with creeps pretending to be women? That is something that is actually happening because of the rats.
Anyone who takes their cues or opinions from politician-created commercials or materials should be knocked upside their head.
I’m still waiting for the Democrats to over estimate the stupidity of the American voter.
Not sure this is even possible.
One thing that is for certain - by the time they finally do over estimate, it will be too late for America .
We may already be there
Gavin will be Biden’s VP choice.
