The leftists at the Harvard Crimson have spoken out against transgender athlete bans and claimed that the evidence to support the case that men have a physical advantage over women is “less conclusive.”
However, in the process of making the assertion, the article ignored all evidence to the contrary to support their own claim that transgender athlete participation is wholly benign.
In the college paper’s April 16 editorial, entitled, There Are Many Obstacles Facing Women’s Sports. Trans Athletes Aren’t One, writer Jonathan G. Yuan writes for The Crimson Editorial Board that the “science” is “less conclusive” that “transgender women hold a biological edge over their cisgender opponents.”
The science-free citation of using the political term “cisgender” aside, Yuan goes on to insist that “science” proves that men who take female hormones to “transition” lose their male strength.
“According to the National Institute of Health, testosterone levels of transgender women after 12 months of hormone therapy resemble those of their cisgender counterparts, while their muscle strength either decreases or remains unchanged after a year of treatment,” Yuan wrote.
He then sallies forth as if that was all the evidence anyone has ever presented to show that “transgender women” are on an equal playi....

They have to take the position that it’s unclear if males have an advantage. Because if they were to admit that males did have an advantage then they would have to take the position that males should not be competing in female sports.
But the liberal view is that we are supposed to treat these transgender people as if they are real women.
And the liberal view is that if you have any doubts about all this transgender business , you are some kind of Neanderthal bigot. And people on the Harvard Crimson Could not ever admit that they agree with Neanderthal bigots about anything.
Judging from what I have read lately about Harvard’s standards, ‘twould appear that their Med School teaches phrenology and the Physics Dept has a course on Astrology - should their standards be as low as that of their President and the majority of their lib (f)arts clown students.

It's not a matter of who is "superior" to whom. Men can't get pregnant and bring new human life into this world, and that's pretty darned important and should be immensely valued. What is the ability to throw a javelin further or pole vault higher compared to that?
That said, my father's PhD was in kinesiology (the study of human motion) and he was an expert in sports physiology and biomechanics. From many conversations we had I'm sure he would stridently disagree with any notion that the science is unsettled in this area.
With all this talk about male vs. female strength, I haven’t seen reaction time discussed. Over the years I have acquired the impression that men are much quicker than women.

I get so sick of this. It is ignorance at the peak.of stupidity. Cardiac output and lung volumes are higher in men than women. Studies show that man retain a 5% greater strength advantage in men after transition than women. The British sports council studied this and concluded ,” you can be fair, or you can be inclusive, you can’t be both”.
A college paper wrote something. Who the hell cares? What a waste of time article. No different than reporting what a high school kid thinks about Ukraine or whatever.

Percentage differences are very similar at all distances, women are 11% slower at all four (rounded).
It is easy to see how sub-elite male runners could easily dominate women’s track events.
Same ratios apply to golf at elite levels. Average drives on men’s PGA tour nowadays are around 300-305 yards, for women, 260 is about average. Golf differs from some sports in that a large component of performance is based on fine motor skills (short game aspects like putting and chipping) and from my own observation I would say the sexes are virtually equal in those aspects. It is only the longer distance shots that show a gender-based difference.
Team sports have seen very few direct comparisons (because it would not likely be close), just very subjectively I would expect a national men’s team in soccer for example, to defeat a national women’s team by scores like 6 or 7 to 0 or 1, and I would expect time of possession to be in the 2:1 to 3:1 area. One elite woman player could possibly participate as a near-equal in a men’s game but given the different strength factors, entire teams would see a significant difference. And soccer could be a bit “closer” to equality than football, ice hockey or basketball.

In article, Yuan wrote that NIH reported that after 12 months taking opposite sex hormones, male muscle strength ‘decreased or stayed the same.’ Stayed the same? Plus, how much stronger are men to begin with? 30%, and after estrogen, it decreases by 7%? Just a guess, but Yuan has a very low IQ, apparently.
They are out of their minds!
