Donald Trump on Friday endorsed a primary challenger to Rep. Dan Newhouse of Washington, one of two remaining House Republicans who voted to impeach the former president over his role in the Jan. 6 riot.
In a Truth Social post, Trump threw his support behind Jerrod Sessler, a former petty-officer in the Navy who has gone after Newhouse for his impeachment vote.
"Jerrod Sessler is a fantastic candidate and will be a GREAT Congressman for Washington State’s 4th Congressional District," Trump wrote, while also citing Newhouse's impeachment vote.
Newhouse's campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday night.
Ten House Republicans voted to impeach Trump in 2021. Most of them, including former Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, either decided not to seek another term or lost their re-election bid. Rep. David Valadao, R-Calif., is the only other remaining House Republican who backed impeachment for Trump. The former president did not endorse a primary challenger against Valadao.
This is the second time Trump has tried to oust Newhouse, who has served in Congress since 2015. In 2022, Trump backed Loren Culp. Newhouse was helped in part by Washington state's top-two all-party primary system, in which Culp came in third behind Democrat Doug White, who was later defeated in the general election.

Only two Impeachment Republicans remain: Newhouse and Valadao of CA. Valadao may win or be defeated by a Democrat.
Primary is August 6th.
If you read the left-wing hit piece known as his "Wikipedia bio" you'll see that the media and other Democrats already have what they think is enough ammo to destroy his candidacy. Newhouse is scum. He's not even really a "RINO" -- he's barely a Republican at all.

His district is solidly GOP-leaning, at R+11 it's the safest in the entire state, even though a very large portion of the district comes straight out of Mexico; the illegals mostly don't vote.

As is typical for conservative challengers to RINOs however, Sessler has no money at all to work with and Newhouse has all he needs. There is no serious Democrat challenger here, because the Rats are more than pleased with Newhouse.
Didn’t that ex-LEO who seems to have gone crazy, Loren Culp run against Newhouse in 2022? Either way, I hope President Trump’s endorsement is what it takes to unseat the terrible representative from Washington 4th. You’re right, he’s a pure dimocRAT.
There needs to be a full on RINO hunt until the very last RINO has been driven from office.

Trump hasn’t learned his lesson.
The headline is intentionally misleading. It fooled me at first too. Trump is not endorsing the rino that voted to impeach him he is endorsing the challenger. Typical NBC BS.

But there are still 3 impeachment Senators. (4 if you count pierre dilecto, but he is retiring). They are Collins(RINO-ME), Cassidy(RINO-LA), and Myrrhcaughski(RINO-AK).
He said he wanted people loyal to him. This guy is gonna be a problem.
