I can only hope that is not why so many blacks cheered his acquittal. I’d like to think that they saw it as a case of where a black star was being railroaded into a murder conviction by a white prosecutor and a white L.A.P.D. and was found to be not guilty.
Of course I believe O.J. did it, but, he had a not-quite airtight alibi, no murder weapon was found, some of the evidence found, the gloves, was discovered under questionable circumstances.
So the case wasn’t a slam-dunk for the prosecution. Did race play a part in the jury’s decision, I have little doubt. Was the jury wrong? I believe so. But could there be a reasonable doubt, yeah, maybe.
I don’t remember anyone saying blacks felt connected to Timothy McVeigh.

Because it’s typically white that kill blacks is the connotation. So whites got to feel what the black community feels everyday. Of course, I really don’t have an emotional pull when a white person dies like the blacks do. When a black person dies, the community feels it. Whites don’t have that tribal feeling. That’s what the news media story is about.
