FCC launches crackdown on signal jammers sold by Amazon, others

Uh-oh, Amazon. Looks like the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is not playing around when it comes to selling illegal signal jammers. The agency just went public with an investigation into Amazon and other major retailers for allegedly pushing these dodgy devices that can block your cell signal, GPS, and more.

Typically advertised as “drone deterrents” or “privacy tools”, these nefarious gadgets are specifically designed to block radio frequencies. This has serious ramifications, cutting off cellular devices and GPS units and impacting emergency communication channels.

Like so much technology today it can be good or it can be bad depending on who is using it and for what purpose.

I wonder if there's a market for "threat warning receivers". They react to jamming by "home on jam", triggering an alarm, flood lighting, and hopefully CIWS.

Worst of all, they can prevent voting machines from wirelessly connecting to the Internet. You know, in case they need some last-minute, 2 am, software patches or something.

The corrugated roofing designates a WAVE.
The cook is a SCRAMBLER of eggs (or salad).

ergo WAVE SCRAMBLER.

Are they really ‘jamming’? Or tramsmitting a signal that your wifi interprets as a RESET?

LOL — makes perfect sense now.

I like my salad cooked rare so I had overlooked the ‘scrambler’ connection...

“ If you don’t want someone to hear YOUR signal, or locate you from YOUR signal, turn off whatever device YOU are transmitting from.”

Turning off phones won’t keep them from broadcasting from your microphone, camera or gps ping from towers.

Might want to update your tech background.

You might want to update yours.

You can put your phone in an RF proof envelope or even RF shielded cloth bag. They make them and they are cheap.
No need to interfere with everyone else around you just because you are paranoid.
