Electric vehicles are unpopular, expensive and bad for the environment but the Biden Regime is going into overdrive to force car companies to produce more EVs while they crackdown on gas-powered vehicle tailpipe emissions.
The EPA’s mandate is expected to be finalized Wednesday, according to Fox News.
The full plan will go into effect in 2027.

The Biden administration is expected this week to finalize highly anticipated regulations targeting gas-powered vehicle tailpipe emissions, considered the tip of the spear in its efforts to electrify the transportation sector.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is slated to issue the final rulemaking — which officials have boasted will incentivize greater adoption of electric vehicles (EV), but which opponents have criticized as a de facto mandate — as soon as Wednesday, industry sources told Fox News Digital. The regulations, a key part of President Biden’s climate agenda, would ultimately force automakers to more rapidly expand electric options in their fleets beginning in a matter of years.
Overall, under the proposal, which EPA unveiled in April 2023 and will go into effect in 2027, the White House projected that 67% of new sedan, crossover, SUV and light truck purchases would be electric by 2032. In addition, up to 50% of bus and garbage truck, 35% of short-haul freight tractor and 25% of long-haul freight tractor purchases could also be electric by then.
The White House said the proposal, which represents the most aggressive proposal of its kind ever proposed, would “accelerate the clean vehicle transition” and reduce oil imports by 20 billion barrels. Biden and climate activists have taken aim at the transportation sector over its high emissions profile — it alone produces roughly 29% of America’s greenhouse gas emissions, federal data shows.

Not quite, Traitor Joe and the committee do not care. The reason the car makers went all in on EV’s is because they were told the rats were going to regulate ICE cars off the roads. That is what this is.

This will get tied up in court. Since the emission targets are not technically possible and the EPA cannot use emissions to ban gas vehicles I think this will end up being struck down.
If so, then the domestic OEMs will share a large measure of the blame for their own demise. The Trump administration had sought to cut back (albeit, somewhat modestly) on the Obama administration-imposed GHG tailpipe emission standards -- which is what drives this push for EVs -- and the domestic auto manufacturers resisted these regulatory efforts. Ultimately, several of the domestic manufacturers entered into their own agreement with California with respect to the GHG tailpipe standards, cutting the political legs out from under the Trump administration entirely.
For the most part, the U.S. auto companies are run by woke, Left-of-center morons who are happy to cooperate with Democratic administrations when it comes to "green" issues. Having those companies go bust, on account of their craven foolishness, may be the best outcome.
Ironically, this shows where Trump himself doesn't really get it. Having the domestic OEMs suffer a "bloodbath" on account of cheap imported Chinese EVs is something to be applauded, not condemned. Reward your political friends and punish, severely, your political enemies. The Dems get it. Trump should as well. He could start by coming to understand just who his true enemies are.

Our local mall which is practically dead now (once the biggest mall in the Panhandle) is leasing out its parking lots to local car dealerships for storage..............

Trump struck down thousands of regulations but it looks like jobiden’s handlers are writing more all the time. Trump and erase these but if he doesn’t the free market will. Green Energy, EV’s, wind and solar are bad ideas and Free Market will prove it.
