Oklahoma 16-year-old Nex Benedict died by suicide, according to an autopsy report released Wednesday by the state's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Benedict, a member of the 2SLGBTQ community, died one day after getting into a physical fight with several other students at Owasso High School.
Benedict was nonbinary and went by they/them pronouns, according to Benedict's family. 2SLGBTQ includes Two Spirit, an umbrella term used to describe a third gender in Native and Indigenous communities. Sue Benedict, their mother, is a registered member of the Choctaw Nation.

The Department of Education has opened an investigation into Owasso Public Schools following a complaint from the Human Rights Campaign related to such concerns.
"Bullying in any form is unacceptable," the district said in a past statement. "We take reports of bullying very seriously and have policies and procedures in place to address such behavior."

What happened to her was unfortunate, but we don’t know the details. It’s possible to fade into the background in high school if you don’t call attention to yourself.
Girl pretending to be neither. Didn’t “feel” like she fit into the male-female binary, although obviously she did.
Look at what’s around her. The girls are all sluts and the boys are all sexually-agressive porn addicts. If I were her age today, I might call myself “non-binary” in pure self-defense.
She deserves sympathy IMO.
and 2SLGBTQERTY covers everything that 2SLGBTQ might leave out, and we wouldn’t want to leave out any variants because that wouldn’t be “inclusive” ...

What the kid needed was a strong dad to tell her/him that they are what they were born as, and threatned to kick them into the next week...(I was raised in the 1970’s) If you had a wiener, you were a boy.
She died because she had a mental illness that unfortunately was not being properly treated.... period.
No I don’t condone a beat down, but I don’t condone her going into the mens room either.
If there is anyone to blame for this child’s death, its the absolutely malpractice by mental professionals and adults around her.

I graduated high school in 1979. If I said that I wanted to change my sex, my dad would have yelled so loud the neighbors would stop to listen.
Growing up, I was the only girl on our block. It was very lonely. Also at that time, I was worried about puberty. I wished that I was a boy for many reasons. Thank God, this crazy bs of lbgtzwrf wasn’t around then. So I understand some of the girls fears. But all these mis-led kids need a dad who will holler and “send them into next week” if they don’t straighten out.
