Nearly 1,000 New York National Guardsmen, state police, and MTA cops are being deployed to carry out bag checks in the Big Apple’s crime-ridden subway system, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday.

In total, 750 guardsmen and 250 cops will help NYPD officers patrol the “the city’s busiest transit stations,” Hochul said.

The Guardsmen to his/her boss “... aw boss, I have to take some time off to go police the subways. Don’t know when I’ll be back, but do I get to keep my salary/wages?”

These Guardsmen will be PISSED about this. Their families will be going broke from this if they areactivated for any length of time.

There was some chatter a year or two ago about bringing train/bus services under DHS and deploying TSA to control access. This could be a pretense for some sort of operation like that.
