Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has officially announced her plans to step down next month.

McDaniel, 50, who has held the post for seven years, said she plans to resign on March 8.

“Some of my proudest accomplishments include firing Nancy Pelosi, winning the popular vote in 2022, creating an Election Integrity Department, building the committee’s first small dollar grassroots donor program, strengthening our state parties through our Growing Republican Organizations to Win program, expanding the Party through minority outreach at our community centers, and launching Bank Your Vote to get Republicans to commit to voting early,” she said in a statement to the New York Times Monday.

RE: Beshear would appoint a rat to fill Mitch's seat. As long as Republicans control the KY legislature, he cannot. Their KY rules are that the Gov can select from the legislature's proposed replacements. We mostly need McConnell off the NRSC and any other Republican election roles. He made sure to remain the minority in the senate by withholding campaign support from good candidates. Let's ditch Mitch!

Ooh, that is something I'm glad to be corrected on. Now it's full speed ahead to get rid of McConnell because you are 100% correct about him working against good candidates. When you go back to the 2018 midterms and look closely, you see that the GOPe didn't just throw the House over to the RATS, but that McConnell blew three or four winnable races with his usual lack of support at key points and then continued more of the same in 2020 and 2022.

Rush Limbaugh was always perplexed by Trump’s personnel picks in his first term.

The only policy area where his appointments really had his back was negotiating international trade agreements. Otherwise, Trump mostly got rolled by the permanent bureaucracy.

I hope he learned better and will not make the same mistake.

That is not feasible because the RNC has to be convenient to the federal government, its public officials, and the constellation of interest groups and political actors that cluster around them.

I was part of a highly successful GOP state party HQs staff long enough to know how different people, specialties, and tasks work in a party organization. The issues of loyalty, competence, and innovation are distinct. In addition to specific skills and talents, the senior people should be experienced so they do not make damaging but avoidable mistakes, the middle ranks ought to have been around long enough to see where there can be innovation and where the old rules and experience hold true, and the smart, young, enthusiastic types are best suited for the front lines.

This should have happened a while back. We lost a lot of valuable time. I guess the RNC retreat for the week of November 4 is all booked and ready? Where is it going to be? in the Bahamas? Jamaica?

It was kind of amusing that the RNC booked all those primary debates with all the leftwing propaganda outlets. Playing the same stupid game again as if no one will notice. Unfortunately for Ronna Trump refused to play. He decided he did not need the RNC, their left wing RINO candidates and the leftwing media ganging up on him.

Even worse for Ronna, an unknown guy with a lengthy name, Vivek Ramaswamy, took the opportunity to call her and the RNC out in public during the debates. He did so boldly, without mincing any words. Called her and the RNC losers. Not only did he call them out, he called out all the RINO candidates that the RNC and the republican establishment had lined up against Trump. He also called out the DNC "moderators" from the leftwing media, asking them why they lied to the American people and asking them to apologize. Of course they all went to hide behind Chris Christie.

The primary debates did not work out as planned for the RNC/Ronna, the gop establishment and their lineup of fake republicans, and the leftwing media/dnc.

Often there are good people in badly run organizations. After putting in new leadership, the best results come not from wholesale firings and layoffs but from sorting through those in middle management and in the ranks, making individual assessments, and keeping the best.

Like dating, recruiting candidates, large donors, and key political allies has to be done in person.
