If you are waking up Thursday morning and having trouble with your smartphone you are not alone. There have been millions of reports made coast to coast about a major problem with the AT&T wireless network.
According to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office in Florida, subscribers are unable to call or text 911.

It was just reported on the local news. Nationwide outage. It’s not an attack by Russia or China. Remain calm.
If it were an attack on either one of those countries, we wouldn’t know it, especially a few hours after the initial problems were reported.
It is possible that it isn't a hack attack. I mean, who knows? Maybe it isn't. Perhaps it is not.
Could be a squirrel chewed through a line or something.
Mine too. I’m retired, sitting home with WiFi so it’s no problem for me. My son and daughter-in-law both use their phones constantly as they are in businesses that put them in their cars most of the day. This is a major problem for our economy if it can’t be repaired quickly.
Shutting down one or two networks may be a test or a warning, right now I have t-Mobil in ohio and it is fine and we have plenty of squirrels 😂

I’m more concerned by the fact that Iran most likely has the capability to do something like this.
If it were something simple like a squirrel chewed thru a cable, that outage would be isolated to one company in one geographical area.
This particular outage is pretty widespread, and all the major carriers are experiencing issues.

User reported data so it would show eastern as these folks are awake first.
I’m jut 2 minutes behind your post, and have Wi-Fi via my Smartphone’s Hot Spot capability and “tethering”...
My AT&T service seems to be working OK so far.
South Carolina, AT&T. No phone service for us.
Where are you?
Verizon has outages in California now.
AT&T service is working in my location in NW GA / NT ATL exurbs.
