Biden, in a Friday speech, condemned what he described as corporate greed in light of 2023’s crash, and also pushed for railroads to implement more safeguards.
“While there are acts of God, this was an act of greed that was 100 percent preventable,” Biden said.
“We were pushing railroads to take more precautions, to deal with braking, to do a whole range of things that were not dealt with. Norfolk Southern failed its responsibility,” he added.

Biden probably thinks the only way to combat greedy corporate trains is establish government trains.
The federal government opted not to require Norfolk Southern to put more monitors on freight trains because Norfolk Southern owns politicians.
Dare I say politicians like Joe Biden.
When that guy from FEMA (or wherever) spoke, I wanted to puke. Every sentence was a lie.
Then the fat bastard mayor spoke all warm and fuzzy about Biden being there. Later on, on RAV, somebody alluded to the fact that some people in Palestine had been “bought off”. It was referring to the Mayor. It wasn’t exactly thinly disguised.
The railroads bought the politicians back in the late 1800’s when they were richer and super powerful for sure.
It was bad enough for Conservative Christian Populist Democrat William Jennings Bryan who argued God created the earth in seven days at the Scopes Trial (1925) to say the government should own the railroads.
I guess Bryan the Democrat candidate for POTUS in 1896, 1900 and 1908 figured better the gov’t own the railroads than the railroads own the gov’t.

What is disturbing is that his staff is clearly just as non compos mentis as he is.
Norfolk Southern should file a defamation suit against Biden for his false remarks. Tie him up in court with legitimate charges and ensure any damage award is paid by Biden from his personal assets.
