The shooter who entered Lakewood Church on Sunday with a long rifle and child in tow has been identified as Genesse Ivonne Moreno, according to multiple sources.
The 36-year-old previously identified as Jeffrey Escalante and had prior arrests for assault, forgery, marijuana possession, theft, evading and unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to KHOU's Jeremy Rogalski. Accoring to a Texas Department of Public Safety records search, her criminal report dates back to 2005.
Members of the FBI, Conroe Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Houston Police Department and Texas Rangers arrived at a Conroe home hours after the Sunday shooting to collect evidence and try to piece together the main piece of the puzzle. The shooter walked into the Houston mega-church with a 5-year-old while wearing a trench coat and carrying a backpack that she reportedly announced had explosives inside. Explosives were not found in her possession or in her vehicle.

As the confirmation hearing for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson went into hour 13, Sen. Marsha Blackburn asked the Supreme Court nominee on Tuesday to define the word “woman.”

This crap against American churches is why we have a security team each time the doors are opened. When service start, all doors in the back are locked and we have patrol inside and out. Oh, and probably 60% of the church is armed, including women!! Our pastor said if anything went wrong, his only worry was getting hit in the crossfire!!! :-0 I am always armed anyway but am at church. Damned shame that this stinking world and country have come to something like this that churches have to be armed to protect themselves against all these haters out there.
