BRASELTON, Ga. — Armed men with long guns who regularly walk Braselton neighborhoods are concerning some parents in the area who fear for their children’s safety although local authorities have informed them there are no laws being broken.
Two men who appear to be in their 20s and dressed in tactical gear have been spotted in neighborhoods along New Liberty Church Road for months.
Neighbors and police have confronted them but the men have been undeterred, citing their Second Amendment rights.
“They essentially espouse anti-government rhetoric and anti-police rhetoric,” William Cooper, who lives in the area and has confronted the men and called police multiple times, told Channel 2′s Matt Johnson.
Cooper said he’s a gun owner as well, but is confused about why the armed men are choosing residential neighborhoods to exercise their rights.

Braselton is 72% white, 12% black per city-data.com. Crime rate is fairly low. If more patrol the streets, crime will drop further.
I’d like to know more about the circumstances of the complainer and his characterization of the “anti-government rhetoric and anti-police rhetoric”.
I’ll bet the “rhetoric” is along the lines of “we’re doing the job that the government and the police are unable to do”. Which is likely accurate.
I’m sure it’s not the beginning of another faux “insurrection”.
Just some brainwashed liberal exercising the power of the lie.
The sheep have been conditioned to believe that sheepdogs are the same as wolves.
There are many youtube videos of “2nd Amendment Auditors” who do this type of thing. Many of them do things that are provocative in order to get a response, then tape LEO response. Typical LEO response is a violation of 4th amendment. But doing this is just not a smart thing to do.
Yes. Just being stupid doesn’t really violate any laws, but unless there is a serious crime problem there, this kind of stunt is just the adult version of Cowboys and Indians.
I wonder if they know that if they confront a suspected criminal, and they are forced to shoot the criminal because the suspected criminal grabs one of their guns, they will go to prison for the rest of their lives as well as anybody who records the incident.
He did say “essentially”. This guy supposedly owns a gun and says he doesn’t understand why they choose to exercise their rights in the neighborhood. Riiiight.
I hope they are smart enough to carry a throw down weapon.
That means a cheap revolver, untracable with fingerprints and DNA wiped off inc the bullets.
Liberals ALWAYS hide behind children while trying to kill them too.
Yes, but to be fair, to a sheep both look similar. Fur, teeth etc. It’s not until something happens that the sheep will hide behind the sheepdog. Then shun him again when the threat is over.
The director said dispatchers told them no laws were being broken and no law enforcement response was needed.
Braselton Police tell Channel 2 Action News they’re aware of who they call “Second Amendment activists.”
In a statement, Major Michael Steffman said, in part, “They have not violated any laws, as they are just exercising their Second Amendment right.”
“Cooper said he’s a gun owner as well, but is confused about why the armed men are choosing residential neighborhoods to exercise their rights.”
Mr. Cooper is a moron.

Maybe this type of activity (article below) caused the men some concern so they decided to patrol their neighborhood to make sure they and their neighbors remain safe.
Or a liar Democrat.
Waiting for the articles that decry residents “fearing for their safety” in lawless neighborhoods, mostly black, where there is NO MORE police presence thanks to the defund crowd.
The same thing has happened in Michigan. Second amendment stands strong
“…some parents in the area who fear for their children’s safety“
Man some people don’t have a clue as to the meaning of the word irony! NOW they’re afraid. What we’re they before when THE BAD GUYS had the run of the streets?
“They essentially espouse anti-government rhetoric and anti-police rhetoric,”
WHAT are the government or the cops doing for anyone but the lawless?
“ I wonder if they know that if they confront a suspected criminal, and they are forced to shoot the criminal because the suspected criminal grabs one of their guns, they will go to prison for the rest of their lives as well as anybody who records the incident.”
That sounds a bit strong. In what state?
