Donald J. Trump spoke at the NRA’s Great American Outdoor show Friday night, saying, “Your Second Amendment will always be safe with me as President.”
He said it was great to be back with the “hard working, God fearing, patriots of the NRA.”
Trump mentioned primaries and caucuses he has won to date, and made clear his conviction that he will win the upcoming South Carolina primary.
He then talked of how he warned the American people that Joe Biden would bring America into a perilous situation, should he be elected.
Trump then added, “The only thing I didn’t know: I didn’t know how bad it would be.”
He said now people are saying, “Trump was right about everything” and I was right about Joe Biden.
Trump went on to outline how harmful Biden’s policies have been to Americans, particularly to black Americans and other minorities.
He said, “If you care about your country, if you care about your children, then this November you have to fire crooked Joe Biden.”
Trump transitioned to the Second Amendment, noting that Biden’s policies have been corruptive there as well. He warned:
Even as they turn America into a crime-ridden, gang infested, terror-filled dumping ground, Joe Biden and his thugs will do everything in their power to confiscate your guns and annihilate your God-given right to self-defense…During my four years, nothing happened, and there was a great pressure on me, having to do with guns…we did nothing, we didn’t yield…But four more years of Joe Biden means four more years of anti-gun communists running the ATF.
Trump indicated that four more years of Biden means four more years of an all-out war against the gun industry, fueled by the left’s hopes of putting the entire industry out of business.

When they tried to force action after a shooting (the typical political ambulance chasing), he did the bump stock thing which was to take the political pressure off and show action, but not really do anything. He was willing to take the heat as they tried to force him to go further on the issue, but he refused.
His actions speak loudly on this issue and he’s not like many others that pretend to support you but then throw you under the bus once in office. Trump supports our 2nd amendment rights.
I listened to the speech. Very good.
Unfortunately, President Trump is weak on the 2nd Amendment. His actions in his first term speak for themselves.
He used administrative power - deep state power - to push for and enact a bump stock ban.
And he also spoke about using red flag laws to deprive people of timely due process rights. Thankfully for the latter, someone in his administration told him his base support would crater if he continued to support such efforts.
President Trump needs to be watched carefully regarding the 2nd Amendment.
There was a marvelous video in the last year or two about some ATF creep coming to the door of a private citizen, insisting upon being let inside. The ATF creep was dressed in street clothes, and his lanyard had his ID. The private citizen called 911. When the local police arrived, the ATF creep WOULD NOT follow police instructions. The local police quickly ‘took him to the ground’ at which point he began complaining about his back condition.
It was glorious.
He was probably told bump stocks are garbage.
Binary triggers work much better, IMHO.
The show Trump spoke at is not an NRA event.
I’ve attended this show in Harrisburg many times. It’s a great show.
You need to be watched carefully regarding anything to do with Trump.

I’m not the one that had a gun *part* essentially classified as a machine gun.
And turned thousands of owners of that part into lawbreakers.

Trump banned more guns in one term than Obama did in two.
It's hard to say because we've decided that November 2024 will be the choice between really liberal and slightly liberal.
To be fair, Biden matched Trump's idiotic bump stock ban with his own idiotic pistol brace ban.
Fortunately, we have Trump's judges to thank for sparing us from both men's idiocy so there's that in Trump's favor.
Re: 10 - I think the choice is pretty clear.
That doesn’t mean that President Trump gets a pass on infringing on 2nd Amendment rights, either in his first or second term.
Thankfully, the Supreme Court will correct this infringement.
What guns were banned?
The Blue States have been boldly ignoring the Supremes, re: RKBA.
And New York’s “guns aren’t allowed on private property unless explicitly allowed” legislation. Thankfully, most of that nonsense was tossed, with more rollback to come thanks to Bruen.
The “idiotic bump stock,” describes it. It is a way of shooting that’s guaranteed to miss the target. Accuracy is not its way. A waste of ammunition and money is a way to describe it.
