We’re not in the era of the Rooftop Koreans any more. Back then, DAs everywhere were sympathetic to folks who went to the defense of lives and property.
Now I wouldn’t intervene in a property crime under any circumstances. To help a person who’s being attacked, yes. But even then that’s rolling the dice. Remember that Marine who intervened on a NYC subway? He’s charged with murder.

There should be a law that, after criminal(s) steal $10,000 worth of merchandise, allows store employees or others to shoot them dead, with a reward of $1,000/criminal.
