The president and vice president can’t both be from the same state.
The question is whether Gavin Newsom would seek the presidency if Biden is replaced.
If the puppet masters can control her, they would let Kamala pick her own sinecure in return for personally placing Newsom’s name in nomination and then stepping aside as gracefully as she can manage.
Does her ego really compel her to seek the presidency? Might her ego really prefer millions of dollars a year for the rest of her life, along with appointment to whatever showboating, globetrotting perpetual ConferenceWorld VIP slots she desires? What will Obama tell her to do? Will her old Willie Brown sex tapes surface (that’s a speculation, not an assertion)? Or will Willie himself wield the dagger? (I don’t know whether, at age 89, with serious health issues, and perhaps blind by now from retinal pigmentosa, Willie is able to do anything, but he could make his children and grandchildren rich — and at that age, he may be beyond embarrassment.)
Sure, the controllers would prefer a sock puppet, but they’re in the position of Lincoln looking for a new general. They have to have SOMEONE plausible enough to front for the drop box and vote harvesting frauds. In a pinch, you work with what you have. And they possibly have enough on Gavin Newsom for blackmail.
To what lucrative lofty heights might Kamala retire? A babbling leftist loon would be perfect to run the California university system. There are many other possibilities. She can write her own ticket.
The Democrats would have to put a black woman on the ticket if they get rid of Kamala (promise her the next Supreme Court seat that becomes available?) but there aren't any obvious good choices.

My thought is Obama knows Biden’s done. The visit was a courtesy. I think Barak knew what was in that report before a lot of people did. And I think he told Joe pretty much what was in it, and he had to step aside for the good of the party.
Naturally, Joe F’d that up, and now the Dems can’t control him because he’s a senile, angry old man with the power of the presidency.
As for Kamala? I suspect if Obama makes her the same offer, name Newsom the new VP, and step aside...I think she will take it so long as her freedom and bank account are secure.
But the problem is? They haven’t had enough time to solidify the party right now, and were they to “install” someone, there’s going to be chaos. Lots of it, and considering Newsom’s record in CA? He might not do much better via Trump. Better to potentially throw the election to Trump now and have something to run on in ‘28. Kamala can take the blame and be the “hero who tried to save us.”
In short, ‘24’s lost. 2028, with four years to run the destabilization playbook on Trump makes a lot more sense, especially if they do well enough in the down-ticket races this year?
With a demented president at the helm during these dangerous times, we are at Defcon 3, at least!
