This statement is further evidence that there is fast coming a point where no more talks with Ukraine will be pursued. This will be decided by the demilitarization of Ukraine, meaning that Russia does not seek the surrender but rather the defeat of all military forces supplied by NATO in Ukraine.
Zelinski will at some point want to talk which means make demands for his followers to hear. He will be informed that this is being settled on the battlefield.
January 2024 is the point where Russia goes from being outnumbered on the battlefield, to having superority in numbers and NEW equipment.
Those who follow the manpower and training of Russian military understand every six months there are 300,000 to 350,000 new soldiers with 6-8 months of training in combined arms warfare graduated. This happens in July and in January twice yearly.
Ukraine had 1.2m trained men and 600K regular army, and 300K reserves in the fight thoughout the war to this point. Now they 500K total. Russia started this with 190K men in the war so it was always going to be a slow incremental war never before seen. But with each successive infusion of 300K men the Russian Special Operation has now reached over 650K in Ukraine.
Ukraine is part of a bigger picture.
Russia will get Ukraine, maybe they will remain in Syria.
The United States will get Israel, and maybe Iran.
Bottom line is that Ukraine is lost to the NATO orbit.

The dispatch from the foreign ministry of Russia sounds like Ukraine knew about the prisioners. Besides, it is illegal under the Ukrainian Military to surrender.
These guys were part of the 150 men who surrendered their positions in one sector.
Ukraine has lost over 1,000 men a day for the past week. Russia aims to kill 70,000 before March and push them out of artillery range of Russian boarders. The election in Russia in March is driving this current offensive to crush the current Ukrainian defensive lines - and it is happening.

How many American soldiers and other NATO military are fighting in Ukraine that could surrender, or be defeated?

At least a dozen ranking members of the Azov Brigade were on the Russian Il-76 Military Transport Aircraft shot down by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Belgorod region.
Do not be surprised if this isn’t the Zelensky regime removing possible opponents to the changes he is making in the Ukrainian military leadership.
