I quit observing Christmas 23 years ago. Best thing I ever did. Instead i observe the holy days of the bible as a Christian. Christmas to me is now essentially an empty fraud.
Bah humbug!!
A merchants payday!
It’s all about the Benjamins .. lots of them!😁
That I can understand, the total over commercialization has really ruined the meaning totally.
Same here DouglasKC. I love God’s Holy Days. This year there have been many changes in our lives (my family and I) so I’m welcoming the opportunity to show my love for my family on a day they deem special. I cooked some of their favorite treats and the preparations for a nice dinner tomorrow. I made some italian sausage using beef and ground turkey for my saucè for lasagna. First time making sausage, and it came out good!!
Have a beautiful day tomorrow, and every day.
Nice to meet you Mr. Scrooge! Merry Christmas sir!
We observe Christmas, but have dishes it back several notches. The extended family agreed on no gift giving a few years ago. No tree, but some subtle Christmas decor — door wreath quilts, a couple of (empty) stockings.
Alone tonight? Hubby and I are alone together. Just played through the Carols section of a hymnal on the piano. Cats are snoozing.
Happy Saturnalia!!!
/totally gets it
;)
Massachusetts Puritans didn’t celebrate Christmas. A joyless ubunch that treated it like any other day.
By contrast the older Virginia colony decorated their homes and held parties and feasts all through the season.
