Well, another year, another Christmas Eve. I’ll be home alone with my faithful greyhound, sipping vino and watching George Bailey learn how wonderful life is, which has been my tradition for about 15 years now. Anyone else going it solo tonight?

Feelin a little alone in house full of my wife’s family. I never quite fit in.
Funny how the lonely feelin does matter if you are truly alone or not.

Odd that you would mention it. For the past 20+ years, listening to that has been the last thing I do Christmas night.

I listen to it once a year, only once, after I crawl into bed December 25.

There always seems to be a few of us here keeping the watch so the rest of the crew can enjoy the holiday.

Thanks to the Robinsons and all the contributors, the lights will still be on and we’ll only be truly ‘alone’ if we so choose.

It’s been awhile but after my divorce several years ago I spend Christmas alone. Didn’t even have a dog for company.
I prepared a nice dinner with a bottle of wine.
It was an improvement on my previous Christmas’s with my ex.
Now I have a much better wife and two wonderful dogs.

My mother even mailed me, what she called the perfect bachelor Christmas tree. It was made of plastic, about 18 inches tall, and even had a small string of lights, four or five I think. It came in abox. Just pull it out, set it on the table, and plug it in. After Christmas, back in the box for next year. Several long moves later, I’ve lost that tree.
