When I was at the checkout, I felt a strong blow from behind and saw someone running from the store. I started chasing him and shot at him. Apparently, I wounded him," Kalcheim said.
He added, "Thank God that I was standing there, an officer in an IDF uniform with a long weapon who could respond. If somebody else had been there, the outcome might have been different."
"Hamas, with whom we are currently at war in Gaza - are also with us in Judea and Samaria. They do not want our existence or our life. We must fight them everywhere. Thank God for saving me," he concluded.

This maybe Israel, regardless it’s a testimony in favor of the 2nd Amendment.
Things like this occur in our own country and we are not at war with Hamas. A portion of the millions of illegals currently pouring into this nation could likely turn out to be terrorists.
Imagine, standing in line at a convenience store in this country, with a long weapon (AR15) and something like this happens. What would you do? Whack the terrorist risking being demonized with an assault rifle and going to jail? Or do nothing?

Third choice: move to a state that understands and supports the use of deadly force in self defense and has implemented its laws accordingly.
I’m afraid that you misunderstand the tactics of “insurgency”. The new model of “modern warfare”.
“Terrorism” isn’t a glitch. It’s a feature. That’s how the weak are able to overthrow the powerful.
The west and almost any “democracy” has a very difficult road on the road of counter-insurgency. It is hard because of the social contract that most have in regards to freedom of expression, rule of law and other methods that regulate the only way to defeat an insurgency..... not many people have the spine or stomach for how to “win” at this new type of war.
