Harvard sees early admission applications drop by SEVENTEEN percent, after college and its president Claudine Gay were roiled by anti-Semitism and plagiarizing scandals

Harvard received its lowest number of early admission applications in years following a spew of controversies surrounding anti-Semitism and plagiarism.

The Ivy League university saw a 17 percent drop in applications from students applying through early admission with 7,921 total candidates, compared to last year's 9,553.

The decline doesn't come as a shock to many following the scandals that the prestigious institution has been wrapped up in over the past few months.

I just happened to catch Glenn Beck on the car radio one day on the way to the store. He was talking about college education & his kids. He said there were only 2 conservative colleges that he would pay for his kids to attend (did not give names); however, if they wanted to attend a technical school to learn a trade/skill, he would pay for that.

Mike Rowe is interesting to listen to on the subject of trade/skill jobs. The current population of workers are aging out. For every 5 that retire, they are being replaced by one person. These are the people that keep the lights on, water running, roads drivable, store shelves stocked, equipment repaired, etc. Our current standard of life depends on these people. In this world that’s seemingly turning upside down, the emphasis appears to be going to college for a 4 year degree, often one that is more anti-American indoctrination than useful in getting a decent job with which to support themselves ... and they finance it with the debt burden of loans.

I’m with Glenn on this one.

Yeah, well, they deserve it. Then again, in 2023 Harvard admitted less than 2000 applicants for the class of 2027, that is early and regular admission combined.I somehow doubt they are concerned about having to write fewer rejection letters this year.

The old WASP ruling class of a century ago weren’t perfect, but at least they had standards and decorum. America’s current ruling elite are just plain trash.

They don’t care. They have billions in endowment and are pushing the lefty movement.

They could run Harvard into the ground for all they care.

For decades I’ve told young people to pick a career before picking college or trade school. Ask people already in your chosen profession what it’s like doing their job and what training has actual value. The people who you’ll one day ask to hire you for that job are the people who know what they’re looking for in entry level candidates. This helps the young person know where to spend his time and money so that they’re not wasted.

To your point...

It’s Time for Congress to Open Harvard’s Books The U.S. tax code and federal contracts swell the coffers of wealthy Ivy League universities that teach hatred is OK. Taxpayers should cut them off.

Get this bit...

...Harvard has collected $3.3 billion in federal contracts and grants...

I’ve heard Mike Rowe really pushing for the working man & he is right on the money, I think. I worked virtually all my life in a trade & while I sure didn’t make much money, I don’t think it was because of the trade I was in. It required no college & I thought perhaps I had a little natural talent for it. That’s why I got in. I could have perhaps gotten a college education through the military, but did not. When I was college age, it was pretty much un-affordable & I didn’t see any courses that I wanted or that would have helped me.

Minor issue, they’ll back fill the 17% with illegals and woke idiots. They’ll graduate with a Harvard Law degree and dumber than a Biden.

This is bull. The early decision applications were due WAY before those doofus college presidents testified to congress. My middle son applied early action to Brown University. Everything was due by October 1st.

In fact, we already found out he got deferred into the general admission pool. This past Friday the news came out. 6,244 kids applied early action to Brown, they accepted 898. Now we have to wait until March 1st to see if he gets an offer.

I’m sure the timeline for Harvard and the other Ivies is basically the same.

The senior HVAC techs at the company we use are making $80-90k & that was probably 3 years ago!

Contrast that with a 4 year college graduate, loaded with debt, some ‘funky’ degree, working as a clerk at a clothing store or Starbucks.

On Gutfeld! it was said, UPenn was ranked 247th out of 248 colleges in worst for free speech. They were beat by Harvard at 248th.

I wouldn’t even buy a used car from a Harvard graduate. I may tip them 50 cents if they are the wash room attendant.
I hope I never have a doctor that went to Harvard seeing that their education is more rooted in wokish nonsense than actual healing.

Should give free Bud Light to applicants

And if they accept it, they're disqualified.

Prestigious and Plagiarism do not work well together.

The U has to get rid of her and face her/its lawsuits.
