Trump Might Just Enter 2024 Election Unscathed As Court Dates Are Delayed, Legal Attacks Falter
DC Enquirer ^ | 11.17.2023 | Katelynn Richardson

As former President Donald Trump’s legal difficulties continue to stack up, scheduling conflicts and trial delays offer relief and highlight an emerging path for him to enter the 2024 election without a conviction, should he be the Republican nominee.

Facing the strain of four separate criminal indictments while running a presidential campaign, Trump has sought to postpone trials in his cases until after the election. At least two judges — the one overseeing his Florida classified documents case and another overseeing his New York case for allegedly falsifying business records — have signaled a willingness to delay, while Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis believes the Georgia trial may not conclude until early 2025.

In Florida, District Judge Aileen Cannon has signaled a willingness to postpone Trump’s federal trial over alleged mishandling of classified documents. Though she decided to keep the May 2024 trial date in place for now, she set a March 1 scheduling conference to revisit Trump’s request to postpone it and has already delayed multiple pre-trial filing deadlines, saying that she “cannot ignore the realities of pretrial and trial schedules” in his other cases.

On Thursday, Cannon postponed one crucial deadline for Trump to submit notice about what classified information his legal team plans to use at trial. In an order, she said a deadline wouldn’t even be set until after the March scheduling conference, making the May trial increasingly unlikely.

The judge overseeing Trump’s Manhattan trial on charges of falsifying business records, currently scheduled for March 2024, may also postpone the trial. Juan Merchan sent a letter to Trump’s lawyers in September stating that he would wait until February to consider moving the date, according to The New York Times.

“We will have a much better sense at that time whether there are any actual conflicts and if so, what the best adjourn date might be for trial,” Merchan told Trump’s lawyers, per the outlet.

Trump was indicted in April on 34 counts stemming from his payment of hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 elections.

Meanwhile, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis signaled this week that Trump’s trial for alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia may not conclude before early 2025.

“I believe the trial will take many months,” Willis said Tuesday during an interview at the Washington Post Live’s Global Women’s Summit. “And I don’t expect that we will conclude until the winter or the very early part of 2025.”

Trump’s 2020 election interference trial in Washington, D.C. is still scheduled to start on March 4, 2024 — the day before Super Tuesday. Trump was granted a small victory when Judge Tanya Chutkan allowed his legal team a few extra weeks to file motions related to subpoenas and discovery, though it was not as long as the extension his team requested.

His lawyers reiterated on Wednesday a request they made early November to pause the case pending the resolution of his request to dismiss it based on presidential immunity.

Trump’s efforts to delay his trials have been opposed at every step by Special Counsel Jack Smith. After Trump asked to pause his 2020 election case in Washington, D.C., he told Cannon in a filing not to let herself “be manipulated” by his request to delay the Florida trial.

“As the Government argued to the Court yesterday, the trial date in the District of Columbia case should not be a determinative factor in the Court’s decision whether to modify the dates in this matter,” he wrote in a filing. “Defendant Trump’s actions in the hours following the hearing in this case illustrate the point and confirm his overriding interest in delaying both trials at any cost.”Republished with permission from The Daily Caller News Foundation.

If Trump is re-elected he can simply pardon himself from the bogus federal charges, but not the state charges. The state charges are a serious problem.

Yes, the state court charges are completely bogus too, but eventually Trump will be tried and convicted by an all democrat jury and sentenced to prison by a democrat judge. The conviction will then be upheld by democrat controlled state appellate courts. If a sitting President is ordered to prison by a state court it will result in a serious Constitutional crisis.

I only hope that ambitious Republican district attorneys in conservative districts around the country are exploring ways to indict democrat politicians (especially the Biden Crime Family) using the same templates developed for them by democrats.

Fear is a very powerful motive.
Let’s don’t underestimate the swamp.
These treasonous clowns have very good reason to fear Trump. Many wealthy and powerful swamp creatures are absolutely terrified of a victorious Trump.
Remember what happened to Julius Caesar in March of 44 BC.

It’s not unscathed, it’s as a prisoner.

One of the forgotten things about this is that they are constantly on a fishing trip they can’t close the net on. They are not considering him being guilty of anything at this point and in particular something that could deny him a shot at the POTUS for his second term. That is the entire reason for this exercise. If they take him into court, and can’t get any more than they did with the two impeachment falacies prior to the election, then they are toast. They have to take that into consideration they might lose and then be crucified by Trump in bold print thus ensuring him the election. And at this point it’s a (fill in your popular word) standoff. So if they can’t close the net, then all they can do is use the media, and in too many instances their counterparts on the other side of the aisle, with misleading information then the libs can only rope-a-dope. And they’ve run out of things to toss that can stick, so they stall to not look stupid and dishonest losing credibility and can continue with nothing but words after the fact. They feel the sheep forget those.

And the funny thing is they haven’t got anything that can stop him from running as the 14th amendment (insurrection) does not apply to individuals but to states. And they still have to prove that which I think they are beginning to determine they can’t as what happened there had nothing to do with him they can provide as evidense.

Her response should have been: Thank you so very very much for your concern, but still, I find your suggestion presumptuous and offensive to the Court. The Court absolutely shall not be manipulated by ANYONE Mr. Smith. The Court will adjudicate in accordance with established law and precedent.

If Trump is re-elected, hit the state prosecutors, state courts & state juries with insurrection charges. It makes as much sense maybe a little more sense than charging Trump with those charges. After all they are trying to remove by extraconstitutional means a sitting president.

Despite his protestations the last thing the Deep State wants is a show trial with constant Trump on the TV then to have him acquitted. They know, that would be disastrous.

“The state charges are a serious problem.”

Snicker; only if you ignore the facts of the case. There was nothing criminal in the phone call between Trump and Raffensperger, which is the crux of their ‘case’.

NOTHING illegal was said or asked - Period.

Meanwhile, back at the GA ranch, there is now public airing, in multiple court rooms, of one election fraud after another being accepted by the courts for further review, including the myriad weaknesses inherent in the Dominion voting machines and related adjudication processes therein.

And never forget Ruby Freeman and her felonious posse of election-fraudfeasors on camera, pulling satchels of ballots from under the table after everyone left for the night after that horrible ‘water main break’ that never occurred, and their scanning, re-scanning, and scanning again the same ballots over and over, perfectly timed for Biden’s early AM spike in ‘votes’.

Ruby and her posse will be called as witnesses and that will be great fun. She is already on camera responding to questions on her activities and saying, “This is much bigger than me.” If I recall, Biden recently gave her and her daughter Shay some award at the White House. Huh.

As time goes on, this case will look far more worthless than the others.

Delays are inevitable. Each case requires a trainload of evidence, motions and discovery.

There will be many motions run up the ladder all the way to SCOTUS.

And then, likely, even if Trump loses in the local courts in NYC and DC, those will get appealed.

The weakest of the cases against Trump are in NYC and ATL. The clown show in the Engoron court could get tossed with some motivational language added by the appeals courts. If he comes out with any kind of a win, he’s got momentum.

They only cases against Trump that have ended up in a courtroom are the civil cases.

The criminal cases seem to be taking forever...... Hmmmm.....wonder why?

If Jack Off Smith has such a “strong hand.”

Why is he running around throwing spaghetti against a wall and still trying to ‘flip’ people?

That's my thought on what Smith said too.

Smith was basically calling the judge to her face, easily manipulated.

Good luck with that Mr. Smith.
