Russia Issues Ominous Warning About 'Next Victim' [Moldova]
Newsweek ^ | Nov. 30, 2023 | Nick Mordowanec

Posted on 11/30/2023 5:43:52 PM PST by canuck_conservative

Lavrov said on Thursday that Moldova, an Eastern European country and former Soviet republic, is putting itself in harm's way in its desire to join the European Union.

In June 2022, the EU and its member states offered unwavering support for Moldova and granted it candidate status. The support was reaffirmed in March of this year, with the EU and its members promising to continue to provide security and economic support to Moldova as it awaits its path to accession...

On Thursday, the Moldova Foreign Ministry issued a rebuke to Lavrov's comments, calling Russia's invasion of Ukraine "brutal" and saying that Moldova "has felt the entire arsenal of destabilization attempts that Russia has unleashed against us."

"Russia's statements, whether today or on previous occasions, are part of the series of hostile actions that the Russian Federation has been trying to implement towards our country over the past 30 years," the statement reads. "Fortunately, throughout this time, the partner states in the West have been by our side, helping us to successfully overcome these threats...

"The Republic of Moldova is going, irreversibly, on the European path and today, more than ever, we insist on the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Russian troops from our territory."

On November 24, Russian officials chastised Moldova and threatened to retaliate after its parliament voted to join the EU sanctions against Russia in connection with the war in Ukraine. Moldova's move is part of moves to change legislation so it can make a bid to join the EU.

Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs, wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that Lavrov's comments "confirm that Russia has no intentions to stop at Ukraine unless it is stopped."..

I stand corrected. Kiev, too (and, sadly, the Vatican).

What’s in the cup, Putin’s blood? It might be the blood of young Ukrainian men. God knows there has been more then enough spilled.

Well, they didn’t want that, so they decided on moslem rule of Europe instead.

They have a genocidal hatred that they are willing to die themselves, as long as Russia is destroyed.

Similar to Hamas hatred of the Jews.

You probably couldn’t find Australia on a map, let alone know much about one of the U.S’s most staunch allies. I was among a group that met some really great U.S crew from the Black Nights F-35C squadron at a RAAF airforce base not long back. The displays of camaraderie between the Aussie F-35A support crews and the Americans was great to see. The alliance is going well. Must. Break your heart

Russia obviously wants to attack & conquer, but without fighting NATO ... and, there's only 2 countries left in Eastern Europe not in NATO - Ukraine and Moldova

given Russia's recent behavior, Moldova is right to be concerned

Hate to break it to you but Russia isn't afraid of NATO.

Let me ask you one thing.

Which NATO country is going to send their young men to die for the Poles, the Baltics or Moldova.....by the thousands....tens of thousands?

The great brain trust in DOD and the executive branch decided that heterosexual, Christian, white males are "the problem". The USA is 15,000 men short of their recruitment goals... the Navy is bad, the Air Force and Marines are covering their retirements.... but go to mall, grocery store, football game, basketball game, local bar or church and think ...... which one of these young men between the ages of 17-22 want to join the ARMED FORCES and die and kill for their country? Go to a gay bar, drag show, Hollywood actor's showcase, Broadway show or BLM/Antifa/pro-Palestine march or fundraiser...... any of them gonna show up to defend eastern Europe and die in the mud for Biden, the deep state and all the family members at the tax trough..... ?

Guess what else... Putin already KNOWS his country will send men to the front.....because they're doing it NOW. They don't belittle men that believe in God, know the difference between a man and a woman and LOVE their country..... See the difference yet?

So go ahead and call Putin a "bad man"... he is. But he's always been a bad man. "we" the US policy of getting NATO up to the border of Russia including missiles were seen as a threat by a country that lost 30 MILLION civilians. So the "gas station with nukes" is doing what Russia has always done... forever... they attack and acquire land by fighting a "defensive" war. Every time Russia expands and goes to war it's excuse has been "defending the Rodina".

I called the Moldova expansion as soon as they invaded Ukraine. Poland is going to be isolated but not until the Baltics countries are dealt with...then they will remember how the allies let the Nazis butcher them, didn't airdrop weapons and ammo and the Russians sat on the Vistula river and waited for the Nazis to finish their killing before they moved in for next 50 years.

Do you want to know the excuse Russia will use to crush the Baltics? I've said this for 6 years... Kallingrad Oblast.... they are going to "defend" the citizens of Russia and the submarine docks/oil pipeline pumping station and that will trigger our young men being sent to Europe. And not in the "fun", explore the world way... but in revenge for the men the DOD and US Army sent to be trip wires in Lithuania and Latvia.... little ole Estonia is all by itself, way up and faraway from Europe. You think the Finns will send 1000s of men to fight in Estonia. Puhleeze.

All Putin has to do is say to the Muslims that have 10s of thousand of men in Europe.....take what you want and destroy/kill/rape or convert the Infidels. We will supply the small arms and other weapons. Those BIG European armies are gonna have to defend a lot of territory ....in addition to Eastern Europe.

But everyone has a hard-on for getting us in a war.... I guess war is good for business ... and Raytheon, Boeing, MD, and all the other corporations that hire flag officers and politicians sons and daughters will be smiling when the bonus checks come in.

I think that when Russia decides it wants the Baltics and NOBODY wants to join to fight... that maybe every thing east of the Vistula River, Eastern Ukraine and Baltics will be "neutral". All the corporations will have huge profits, our government will be more controlling and all those men will have died for what? The glory of Eastern European democracy.... ... let's not even mention China's expansion in Africa, the South Pacific and South America... cuz ....you know... we can fight a two front war. So there's no need to worry our silly little heads with little Joe and the gang of geniuses in our government.

I’d like to see Putin be given a shot at managing NYC, LA and Detroit. I think he’d brush aside this liberal world order and stand up functioning governments rather quickly.

Proving yet again that Putin Fanbois hate the United States, and wish it ill, every bit as much as the Left, albeit for different reasons

Our idiotic establishment’s insane desire to expand NATO right up to Russia’s border is going to start WW III.

Yeah, accepting the petitions from countries recently freed from Russian domination to voluntarily join a defensive alliance is so much worse than actually invading another country.

“These Russian soldiers are in the Transnistria Region which has an ethnic Russian population in the hundreds of thousands.”

Then it’s time for them to choose. They can be Moldovan or they can be Ruzzian. If it is the latter then they can pack up their stuff and go to Ruzzia.

Or Hell.

Either is acceptable.

Why has Finland joined with NATO?

What do they have to fear with their neighbor to the east?

Our idiotic establishment’s insane desire to expand NATO right up to Russia’s border is going to start WW III.

Yawn! NATO has already been "right up to Russia's (the U.S.S.R.'s) border since its inception in 1949. (Then Turkey joined in 1952, further expanding NATO's border with the Soviet Union. Then Poland joined in 1999, further expanding etc.)

Most recently, as a direct consequence of Putin's merciless invasion, occupation, annexations, and other war-crimes in Ukraine, two long-time hold-outs - notoriously neutral Sweden and famously "finlandized" Finland - wisely decided to voluntarily join NATO.

With the accession of these most-recent two sovereign states to NATO, Russia's border with NATO has doubled in length!

What's more, the Baltic Sea has, as a result, become a killing zone for destroying Russian warships. What's more, Russian military assets on the White Sea have become imperiled.

Nice job breaking it, Putin!

Because of your imperialistic adventurism, NATO has gotten a real "shot in the arm!"

Russia has absolutely no business on God's green Earth demanding a veto-right with regards to whom we (NATO) accept into our "club" or not.

Finally, it has become quite evident that Russia has no say in NATO matters, and that Putin has no other choice than to grit his teeth and accept the accession of new members.

Regards,

There are 1,000 Russian soldiers in Moldova right now among other things supervising old munitions from the Cold War stored there.

Translation: They are supervising the cannibalization of equipment, the draining-out of oil from motor vehicles for sale on the Black Market, the extraction of radiator anti-freeze for "enhancing" moonshine; the sale of ammunition...

Those "munitions" have been rotting away for the past three decades. I wonder in what condition they are.

Why Moldova wants to join the EU is a mystery.

Only to those who regard the phases of the Moon as a "mystery."

Any intelligent high school sophomore who has taken "World History" would be able to explain it to you in a few concise sentences.

The chief explanation: For the same host of reasons that all the other poor countries of E. Europe wanted to join!
