Elon Musk told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday that he wants to help rebuild Gaza after the end of the Israel-Hamas war.
Why it matters: Musk is in Israel to meet with officials and see sites that Hamas targeted in its Oct. 7 attack. The trip comes as he faces fallout for backing an antisemitic post on X earlier this month, resulting in an exodus of major advertisers.
Driving the news: Musk and Netanyahu toured Kfar Aza kibbutz and visited residences in the community while accompanied by security personnel, per videos released by Netanyahu's office.
The big picture: Israel has faced growing international calls for a humanitarian ceasefire amid mounting civilian casualties in Gaza.

Netanyahu laid out that his main priority is to neutralize Hamas, after which he will turn to rebuilding Gaza: "You first have to get rid of this poisonous regime."
Musk agreed and offered to be involved in the post-war recovery.
"I think that makes perfect sense that those who are intent on murder must be neutralized, then the propaganda must stop ... and then making Gaza prosperous," Musk said.
"Well, I hope you’ll be involved," Netanyahu responded.
"I’d love to help," Musk said.
In statements which are likely to prove controversial, particularly to the pro-Palestinian side, Musk also voiced that civilian casualties are "unavoidable" and generally appeared to back Israel's position that it is trying hard to avoid them while seeking to target only terrorists.
Is that where he wants to build his new launch pad?
So, will musk ready to block anything and everything supporting Islamic terrorism, Hamas and others?
There is no point in rebuilding a terrorist enclave. The whole place should be leveled and turned into a nice seaside memorial park with tunnels for the kids to play in. The former residents can be resettled in one of the many Islamic countries.
Rebuild it as a parking lot.
Rebuilding a war lords playground is useless.
There will be new warlords coming to manipulate these 80 IQ 7th century people.
They need to send all of Gazan’s back home and resettle the strip. It will never end as long as they are still there.
Netanyahu wants to help rebuild Gaza. I’m starting to think he has lost his mind. Does he think it’s going to end up like the Riviera. You could give every fakestinian a mansion but they will still want Israel wiped off the map.

He really meant after 2 million Palestinians are exported to the US and Europe.
Where do they take all the debris….?? Dump? Ocean? Human remains?
Musk is certainly capable of developing military rockets as well as his space vehicles.
He might work with Israel to help secure their nation.
Gaza must be neutralized, by ways past the current need to kill Hamas.
But this must end Hamas in Gaza. Period.
Space launches require a lot of ocean or desert in the direction of launch because what goes up must come down. Because of the way the Earth rotates, due east is your best choice. Due west and you're fighting physics to get into orbit. Israel does launch satellites now and again, but they are comparatively inefficient in getting them to orbit and it's more for national pride and independence than a choice anyone would make without that reason.

If Gaza is to be rebuilt, let their rich cousins in Saudi and the Gulf States rebuild it and provide them aid. The West needs to withdraw all aid to Palestinians and let the rest of the energy rich Islamic Middle East that has no debt support these grifters in their midst
