The future of the US economy could be powered by cities in the Sunbelt.
Economic and societal power in the US may be shifting away from colossal coastal cities such as New York and San Francisco to metropolitan areas tucked below the Mason-Dixon line, as Barron's recently reported. That's because economic power is flowing to the middle of the country — and places such as Houston, Dallas, Nashville, and Miami are becoming hot spots.
Just as New York City has Wall Street and San Francisco has Silicon Valley, Houston has its energy economy and Miami has its proximity to Latin America and growing financial industry. And while Los Angeles has Hollywood and Washington, DC, has politics, Dallas has a blossoming environment of diversified business behemoths and Nashville is a healthcare and tech hub.
"You used to have two coastal power zones where you could live your best life, never really touching down in the red states," Niall Ferguson, a Stanford historian, told Barron's. "We now have much more of a multipolar America rather than a bipolar America. That reflects taxes, quality of life, cost of living, the ability to build, and incredibly striking differentials in quality of governance."

“The Nash is growing exponentially because white people are sick of Blacklanta. But it’ll be ruined by 2030 and then the caravan will move on.”
Ruined by 2030? No worries there.
It’s ALREADY a shithole full of woke retards which voted nearly 65% for Biden in 2022 and lurched permanently hard-left as long as 2008.
Even the Nashville suburbs are starting to feel the effects of the cancer which long ago took over the city. The big, nice suburban counties (Williamson, Rutherford) have snapped leftward during the Trump years and it’s just going to get worse for them. The good people of metro Nashville need to move (and are moving) even further out.
Take a look at their budgets.
There is no red state in the nation.
Dallas is bad! My 89 year old mom was almost murdered when a 19 year old broke into her home. He left her to die tied up in her closet. She escaped and lived 3 more years.
The DA told us some scary stats about Dallas.
“I was in Nashville a few weeks ago to see Steve Hackett at the Ryman, and I concur, music is everywhere downtown. And the musicians are top-notch.”
My sister lives a hundred miles east of Nashville and she told me that when you go out to eat and there’s a band - the musicians that play in Nashville live all around Nashville and (100+ miles) away from Nashville. In many cases the band you see at the typical Steakhouse or Buffet joint are usually Top Notch as well.
“...I shun bigger cities.”
I have a criteria. No trains, no public transportation, no interstate. It’s worked out well for me over the years.
Agree 100%. We saw Brian Setzer from the Stray Cats at the Ryman about a month ago. His first tour in 4 years due to tinnitus. Nashville was just electric. Like New Years Eve every day. One day both our Uber drivers were from California, though. LOL.
The problem is success and prosperity bring the leftwingers...who then, like many parasites, they feed off the healthy host, while growing in number, until the host becomes progressively unhealthy, and ultimately dies.
The parasite then of course moves onto another host.
So...these four successful red cities...sorry for what the future holds for you.
I liked it.
IOW, another RINO infiltrator. The backbone of the Republican party.
With all it's seniors, the entire state of Florida is a healthcare hub.
as for tech, these days that would be:
this is what i'm seeing, tho hiring is dead and will remain so until january.
good time for a quick startup...
Gonna be great without air conditioning.
Nashville's crime index is 3, which means 97% of U.S. neighborhoods are safer than Nashville. No thanks!

Sounds like you and I have something in common, a son who plays in a band. Our son’s band was touring nationally when lockdowns happened. In an instant, every thing about their lives changed. The girlfriends became wives, and then became nurses. So now they only play local gigs or regional gigs. Nothing more than about 3 hours away. Still cranking out great original work.
Best of luck to your son!
It’s a shame because the downtown area is one of the best in the country IMHO, always teeming at night, unlike most downtowns where it’s dead at night unless there’s a ballgame.
I thought Nashville was always the music capitol? At least for country music. The entire state of Tennessee seems pretty musically inclined, for that matter.
There is no red state in the nation.
What’s wrong with a small town? Ever try that there?
Surprised I don’t see Phoenix. This whole state is exploding with Phoenix in the lead. Jobs virtually everywhere, but I suppose we aren’t a Red State any longer.
