during a speech on Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris praised Australia’s strict gun control laws, which include a ban on automatic and semi-automatic firearms and a mandatory buyback program that removed nearly 700,000 privately-owned firearms from circulation in the 1990s.
“In our country today, the leading cause of death of American children is gun violence. Gun violence has terrorized and traumatized so many of our communities in the United States,” Harris said. “And let us be clear, it does not have to be this way – as our friends in Australia have demonstrated.”
Unlike in the U.S., Australian citizens do not have a legal right to gun ownership. Gun owners must have a license, and each firearm must be individually registered. Self-defense is not considered a valid reason to own a gun.

Given recent history in Israel and no guns, and Australia’s proximity to China, I think they should re-examine their gun policies.
Of course Kamala failed to mention that most deaths of children due to gun violence are caused by gang violence, while it’s her party defending the street criminals, protesting their arrest, opposing their prosecution, and demanding early release for them to start their killing and destruction again. If Democrats actually cared about children being shot, they’d end their immoral pro-criminal, anti-police misinformation campaign.

The right to have a gun is just as important as having the right to vote.
America will never be invaded by a foreign military force as long as we have weapons to protect ourselves. That is democracy.
In Switzerland every native Swiss man having done his military service has an assault rifle at home, given by the Swiss army. Not bad!
Switzerland is considered as being totally untouchable and un-attackable. The best defended nation in history. Neither Russia or Germany invaded it during WW2.
The Swiss are very disciplined. There are no crazy guys suddenly start shooting all over the place.
