CNN legal analyst Elie Honig said Thursday on CNN’s “News Central” that Attorney Sidney Powell’s guilty plea in the Georgia election crimes case could be potentially “devastating for Donald Trump.” Partial transcript as follows: KATE BOLDUAN: Few people pushed it further than Sidney Powell. HONIG: Yeah, that’s right. It’s important to remember who Sidney Powell is, she’s one of Donald Trump’s closest loyalists. She’s somebody who Donald Trump has claimed he relied on her advice to proceed in his effort to try to steal this election. This is a major breakthrough for prosecutors, potentially a devastating development for Donald Trump, because what’s going to happen now is Sidney Powell is going to testify for prosecutors in Georgia, and presumably she’ll also be prepared to testify for Jack Smith in his federal case in Washington, D.C. She’s not indicted in that case, but she’s listed as a coconspirator in that case. She’s going to be able to provide insider information that could be really devastating towards Donald Trump.

Powell plead to 4 misdemeanors.
They dismissed ALL seven felony counts. She pleads to one misdemeanor, has nothing but fine, agreement to testify truthfully and suspended sentence.
It is clear they over-charged. Her win.

They dropped all seven of the felony charges in exchange for a guilty plea on a flimsy misdemeanor charge. The rogue prosecution went way too far as usual, and this is a way for them to back out and save face while giving CNN and MSNBC viewers orgasms under the false impression that Sidney flipped. There is nothing to flip because there is no crime. She is likely giving up taped conversations with no incriminating information.
She had to pay a $5,000 fine and write a letter of apology. This. was a crime of the most serious order./s

She stated at her plea hearing today that she already gave a taped statement to Fani Wills. So her trial testimony has been locked in.
That Georgia case is so unwielding that they have to trim their sails to go anywhere.
The only thing they have on Trump is his phone call which is nothing at all.
Trump is in the White House far removed from whatever occurs n Georgia. If he were pulling strings, the phone call would not have been necessary.
