“Ceterum autem censeo Carthaginem esse delendam.”
“Furthermore, I consider that Carthage must be destroyed.”
Cato the Elder said this in the Roman Senate debates prior to the Third Punic War, which culminated in the levelling of Carthage to make it uninhabitable - I like to believe that the later legend that the Romans also salted the earth to make it non-arable is true.
Israel should learn from the Romans.

the Romans also salted the earth to make it non-arableToday there's the option of applying high-level nuclear waste to make land completely uninhabitable. Of course, any Palestinians who choose to remain should be allowed to.

Indeed, "Ceterum autem censeo Gazam esse delendam."

the later legend that the Romans also salted the earth to make it non-arable is true. Yes it was. Nice touch, that.
