Now Hamas Wants a Truce. Here’s Why Israel Shouldn’t Give Them One.
PJ Media ^ | 10/10/23 | Robert Spencer

After brutally massacring over 600 Israelis and then suffering some retaliatory strikes from Israel, the bloodthirsty jihadis of Hamas now want a truce. The Israeli government is virtually certain to get immense pressure to agree to such a truce, but this is actually the last thing that Israel should do at this point.

Even before the magnitude of what Hamas perpetrated in Israel was fully known, calls for a ceasefire became a talking point. Leftist opinion makers from the ridiculous (Antony Blinken) to the absurd (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) began calling for a ceasefire so quickly that the Babylon Bee zinged them with a riotous headline: “Emperor Hirohito Calls For Ceasefire After Bombing Of Pearl Harbor.”

Just hours after the Hamas jihad massacres began, the U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs tweeted an astonishingly tone-deaf statement: “We unequivocally condemn the attack of Hamas terrorists and the loss of life that has incurred. We urge all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. Terror and violence solve nothing.” The Office deleted this tweet after people started to point out how monstrous it was to urge that Israel not retaliate after being hit with the most devastating attack in its history.

Despite this embarrassment, Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted Sunday that he had met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan; he added, “I encouraged Türkiye’s advocacy for a cease-fire.” (Türkiye is the new official name of the country formerly known as Turkey; its proud government got tired of all the Thanksgiving bird jokes.)

Blinken later took that one down as well, but other leftists continued to call for a ceasefire at a time when that could only have meant that Hamas would hit Israel and Israel would do nothing in response.

Well maybe we should touch them there or wherever...

That would be a hudna. A hudna is a “truce” Muslims call for when they are getting the shiite beat out of them.
Stupid W fell for a “hudna” and our fighting men and women had to retake Fallujah with many causalities because W was too stupid to understand that a “hudna” is a centuries old trick.

The Israelis will pulverize Gaza then call their own hudna to smoke out some of the animals’ leaders and kill them. They are smarter than 3 of our last four presidents.

Unfortunately, yes. And I say unfortunately because - as you noted - freedom of religion is a very important concept.

Islam is not a religion. It is a death cult and nothing more. It is a cult and our Constitution does not protect it. Also, our Constitution is not a suicide pact and our Founding Fathers understood there would have to be adjustments. Heck, Jefferson thought we would have to duke it out after only a decade or so.

Wishful thinking. You could kill every muslim in Gaza, but that would not stop the rest of the muslim world from retaliating. It would probably bring about the war foretold in Revelation, where the blood reaches the horse’s bridles. Maybe that’s the way things will go, when EVERY country (that would include Israel’s current allies, such as us) fights the battle against Israel. We’re not there, yet. The rapture and the 3½ years of peace have to come first. But for now, Hamas needs to be so broken that they beg for peace and lay down their arms. Israel is fully capable of putting that kind of hurt on them.

After Hitler killed himself, Donitz held out for seven days to give Germans as much time as possible to surrender to the Western Allies. The Berlin garrison asked for a truce shortly after Hitler's death, and the Russians granted it. The commander of the Berlin garrison (Helmuth Weidling) had only been appointed to the post a few days before. In the movie Downfall (source of the "Hitler Finds Out" parodies) he moved his command post west to cut off a German attack. Hitler had ordered that no unit was to move its command post one meter west under pain of death. He is summoned to the Fueherbunker to defend himself. As he enters, he says to his adjutant he will probably be shot. He meets with Hitler and his top lackies and explains that the Russians had broken through south of his position, and were bypassing him. If he had stayed where he was he and his troops would have been out of the fight. He took initiative and attacked the Russians flank. Hitler is so favorably impressed that he appointed him commander of the Berlin garrison. On leaving the Fueherbunker, he tells his adjutant he would rather have been shot.

After Hitler's death Weidling asked for a ceasefire and the Russians agreed. There was some back and forth, but eventually Weidling agreed to unconditional surrender. After the war, Weidling, whose behavior had been exemplary during the war, was kept prisoner until he died in 1955. Probably more because the example of decent German general was a bigger public relations threat to the Russians than a criminal.

I think your close to the main point. I would add though that when that happens, even if takes years, IDF soldiers must go in amongst the women and children and, using whatever force is necessary against the individual, arrest him, put him on trial, and if found guilty of point blank murder, hang him.

Adolph Eichmann was put on trial in 1961, about 16 years after the war. That sounds about right.

yes and the "Palestinians" were originally refugee Christians who found sanctuary in Jewish territories, then the tag "Palestinian" was hijacked by foreign mercenaries hired by enemies of Israel. Hamas is merely a hired mercenary force set up to destabilize Israel as was the "PLO".

this type of behavior has gone on all through history with other countries hiring pirates and arming tribes and clans to fight each other so they are easier to conquer.

This is happening in the USA today, there is government sanctioned "terrorism" and foreign invasion in the streets right now within our own nation of the USA but we are more concerned about the dangers of Hamas and Putin and Trump "by design"

Sounds like a U.S. State Department setup to weaken and undermine Mr. Netanyahu.

...Islam is not a religion...

I see this claim posted every once in awhile and just have to shake my head. It is a religion ,founded by a pedophile warlord. It is pretty much what you would expect from such a twisted man. It is like a marriage between the Borg and the Mafia with the Devil himself performing the ceremony.

Mohammadans can lie to nonbelievers with no concern that its immoral, they deliberately cheat.

The Koresh tribe had peace with Mohammad, a 10 year cessation of hostilities. After something like 6 years he attacked them and killed all the men and his followers had a rape party followed by enslavement of whoever was left alive.

That is the history to look anytime they say they want a truce, they want peace.
