Daddy always told me “when you’re thinking about purchasing a vehicle call your insurance company first and get a quote.”
He also told me “if you really want something and you think you really need it, wait two weeks.”
I give my kids the same advice.
Good advice. But, to this day, I still regret that my father wouldn’t let me buy that cherry ‘61 Corvette from the widow lady that was selling it for $1450. It was 1969, I was 17, and I had a ‘63 Impala 2-door to sell first. That was Dad’s demand. Couldn’t sell the Impala, didn’t get the Vette, didn’t hydroplane into the ditch like I did with the 1967 Camaro I bought a year later. Dad was moderately right. Heck...wish I still had the Impala AND the Camaro.
Dad was right and still is!
