Schumer to blame House Republicans for any government shutdown
The Hill ^ | 09/01/2023 | NICK ROBERTSON

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a letter to his Democratic colleagues Thursday that a potential government shutdown later this month would be the fault of “political games” by House Republicans.

“When the Senate returns next week, our focus will be on funding the government and preventing House Republican extremists from forcing a government shutdown,” Schumer wrote in the letter, first reported by Politico. House Republicans have threatened a shutdown when the federal budget runs out Sept. 30 unless they get the budget cuts they want. Schumer vowed to pass bipartisan appropriations bills and urged the House to follow suit.

“The only way to avoid a shutdown is through bipartisanship, so I have urged House Republican leadership to follow the Senate’s lead and pass bipartisan appropriations bills,” he said.

“Schumer bipartisan” =Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Linseed Graham, Mitch Romney, and the other RINO’s who go along willingly with whatever the Deep State requires.

“The only way to avoid a shutdown is through bipartisanship”

For Democrats, bipartisanship means Dems get everything they want and Republicans bend over.

It’s the same thing over and over and over again.

Maybe the GOP should try something new, like acting like an opposition party with actual principles. Last election they thought there would be a red wave so they continued their assistant dem act, they didn’t do well.

Schumer to blame House Republicans for any government shutdown

You can only do this so many times before people catch on!

Granted.. some folks never see the "forest for the trees" but they seem to be growing less and less in numbers.

We're rapidly approaching the point of... "NO longer able to pull this $HIT anymore!"

This is malarkey.

The deal that was struck includes sequestration if all regular order budget bills aren’t passed…and they haven’t been.

“It will work People are stupid “

It works because the biggest concern of “conservatives” is what leftists will think of them.

"Schumer to blame House Republicans for any government shutdown"

Nothing new with that. Every time there's a threat of a shutdown, Democrats demonize Republicans, and Republicans let them get away with it. Rinse and repeat.

Why keep a government open that’s just going to work to keep Trump out of office?

If the House Republicans were smart, they’d wear it as a badge of honor. Yes, we stopped this, and this, and that, by shutting down the government. But no one has ever accused Republicans of being smart.

Good, I don’t care who they blame, no matter who’s fault it is it needs to shut down. Nothing at all good comes from our government anymore anyhow. They will try to scare us into thinking SS and other programs will stop. They are lying... All those programs by law cannot be stopped if they shut down. They will be the few programs that will go uninterrupted. There is nothing but good that can come from the government being forced to tighten their belts.

Same exact playbook, over and over.

Remember when we had Schumer and the Democrats on the ropes in 2022 when McConnell could have forced Democrats give up their partisan reconciliation bill to change the inflation reduction act, and then McConnell caved at the last minute?

This is the thanks that he gets from Schumer every time he gives in to Schumer's pressure -- more whacks.

vote the cowards out

You can't start to win until you call things by their right names.

So many people here keep calling elected Republicans and the leadership "cowards".

Why do you do that? Do you SERIOUSLY think, after all this time, that these people want what you want and support what you support, in the face of a MOUNTAIN of negative evidence?

They are not cowards. They vote the way they do because they support the things they vote for.

And, further, the things they vote for are things the Republican Party supports.

YOU are the "RINO".

The GOP believes in and will fight for:

1) Open borders
2) A global open market in labor
3) Offshoring productive industries
4) Financialization of the economy
5)) Severing the medium of exchange function of money from the store of value function.
6) Usury as the main engine of consumption.
7) Denying the people their natural, healthy love of their nation
8) Overseas wars on behalf of alien peoples without recompense for our sacrifice.
9) Forced "diversity" with its attendent decline in standards and inevitably accompanying violence.

The GOP has plenty of principles, convictions, and values. YOU must decide if they are yours, or not.

It is not “blame” it is “credit”. This will be good. Shut it down for 3-4 days. All of the blue cites will be burned to the ground.

Rebuild.

“Conservatives: Let’s sit down and work something out that we can both agree on.
Commies: Vote for our bill or we will blame you for everything.”

Republicans: Let’s sit down and work something out that we can both agree on.
Commies: Vote for our bill or we will blame you for everything.
Republicans: Okay anything you say just don’t blame us or be mad at us, we’re your friends comrades.

Conservatives: Nyet!!!
