GOP Voters Favor Trump Over DeSantis Nearly 2-to-1
Rasmussen ^ | June 5, 2023 | Rasmussen

Most Republican voters like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, but when it comes to who should get the GOP’s 2024 nomination, they prefer former President Donald Trump by a 28-point margin.

The survey of 1,012 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on May 30-June 1, 2023 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

In April, DeSantis had a 20-point crossover advantage against Biden.

That advantage is gone.

We called it.

Groups who gave @GovRonDeSantis incrementally higher support vs Trump have largely abandoned him post-announcement.

Imagine RFK running Independent and taking votes away from the Dems insuring a Trump election.

I’m guessing that this huge lead is at least partially responsible for the lack of campaign rallies. I think he would benefit if he were to get out there on the stump.

Trump has been doing events, but no big 5-10k+ rally since the one that got cancelled in iowa.

For instance, he did a bunch of smaller 100-200 person meet and greets, as well as media interviews last week in iowa.

And this saturday he’s speaking at the gop convention in columbus, georgia.

I’m not sure he’d be able to get the donations to wage anything effective.

I’ve got the feeling the left will replace biden with someone else, and it was newsome, but now I’m not as sure he’s going to be the candidate.

I would consider it a high probability that he would be assassinated by “white supremacists” shouting “this is MAGA country” if he did

He needs to be challenged-to ‘earn’ it. The ones who pull their punches are thinking of the VP slot. It’s the 4 years of familiarity that’s offered prior to ‘28.

Those that are not afraid of Trump are taking advantage of his good nature.
Think: Trump’s weapon is verbal. He doesn’t back stab. Rats have more ways to engage-they don’t fight fair. Rino’s are more subtle as the red voters are more likely to hold cowardice against them.

It don’t mean squat unless we have free elections, and I still haven’t heard how THAT is going to happen. Or even being addressed, instead of distracting ‘polls’.

I like them both but Trump already proved he is a great President.

If Trump promises as his very first act to metaphorically nuke washington from orbit, I will vote for him 10 times. The jim jones mass democrat suicide following would just be icing on the cake

So you think it’s hillary instead of biden, in the general against Trump?

I see, so you’re acknowledging that desantis isn’t going to win the primary and be in the general.

I still believe Trump would make a better President than DeSantis but harder to win because of his corrosive attitude. If he does win the nomination he might have a better chance of winning if he concentrates on what he accomplished and what he could accomplish instead of attacking the Democratic nominee.

From the article you posted: “Forty-eight percent (48%) of all Likely Voters believe it is likely that DeSantis will win the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, including 12% who think it’s Very Likely. Forty-two percent (42%) say it’s unlikely DeSantis will win the GOP nomination, including 15% who consider it Not At All Likely.”
