Was Trump a better choice than Chris Christie or Hillary Clinton? Yes.

As President did he explode the deficit and sign legislation that paid hospitals to mistreat and kill hundreds of thousands of Americans? Yes.

Did he do some great things to try and curtail the government and restore liberty? Yes.

Does he appear childish and narcissistic? Yes.

Will I vote for him again? I don't know.

For the nomination, I understand, for the general election?

Did he do some great things to try and curtail the government and restore liberty? Yes.

Again, another dishonorable and deceitful attempt by a DeSanctimonious supporter to minimize President Trump's OUTSTANDING RECORD OF ACHIEVEMENTS.

This is the standard M.O. of many of the DeSantis supporters here on FreeRepublic.

Just on the Economy alone, here is a pretty comprehensive list of what President Trump was able to achieve in 4 short years.

Before the Coronavirus spread from China across the globe, President Trump helped America build its strongest economy in history. Median household incomes rose to their highest level ever in 2019, while the poverty rate hit an all-time low. Under the Trump Administration, more Americans were employed than ever before—160 million—and the unemployment rate fell to a 50-year low. The unemployment rates for African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and Americans without a high-school diploma all hit record lows, while the Trump “Blue-Collar Boom” saw wages grow faster for workers than for managers or supervisors.

After COVID-19 forced a temporary economic shutdown, President Trump signed the largest relief package in American history to protect workers and families from economic devastation. Under President Trump’s leadership, the American economy surged back to life within months, seeing record growth and job gains.

Administration Achievements

UNPRECEDENTED ECONOMIC BOOM

Before the Coronavirus invaded our shores, we built the world’s most prosperous economy

Delivered a future of greater promise and opportunity for citizens of all backgrounds

Brought jobs, factories, and industries back to the USA

Hit record stock market numbers and record 401ks

Achieved a record-setting economic comeback by rejecting blanket lockdowns

FAIR AND RECIPROCAL TRADE

Secured historic trade deals to defend American workers

Took strong actions to confront unfair trade practices and put America First

“Will I vote for him again? I don’t know.”

I totally ‘get’ your conflicted status on Trump. The more he bashes DeSantis with distortions, exaggerations and lies, the more I question Trump’s ethics (we already know what his “morals” have been in the past).

I still have misgivings about some of the disconnects that he has exhibited, and still question some of his motives.... but should he get the nomination, I will vote for him as things stand now. It’s not like I haven’t held my nose and voted before for someone that I still had doubts about.

We’re in yet another weirdly uneasy election scenario. My preference for a leader is a Conservative one. One who would reign in spending and ensure that our economy won’t come crashing down, inevitably, like it will have to do... eventually. The fiscal path we’re on is NOT sustainable. But...the Conservative candidate probably can’t win because Conservatism has been successfully demonized by the left and summarily dismissed as an option by both political parties. It’s just no fun for the DC critters to cut down on all that free $$$ (of ours) that they do so love to waste/spend.

So...once again....we’ll be left (pardon pun) with the choice of Trump vs. the Obama/Soros/DS in 2024. I really don’t think we have any other choice to make.
