The University of California-Berkeley’s African American Studies Department announced it would be hosting its annual "Black Graduation" ceremony for students on May 19 in a virtual format.
“The Department of African American Studies plans on hosting our annual Black Graduation ceremony, which is open to all majors and degree programs across the campus,” read the announcement.
The separate ceremony for African American students appears to have started as an annual event at the public university in 2013. The graduation ceremony is separate from the main graduation ceremony, which will be held virtually on May 15.
Megan Wang, a sophomore at UC-Berkeley told Campus Reform this decision to hold separate ceremonies is the “21st century equivalent of separate but equal.”
She told Campus Reform that it sends the message to students that “their race fundamentally differentiates them from other students.”

Several years ago during the Saint Floyd “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” BS the black students at University of Missouri were demanding segregated housing for black students. Not sure if they ever got it but they were DEMANDING it.
The last generation to fully experience the bad old days is older and not being listened to.
For some reason I am unable to locate any information on their European-American Studies Department.
Did these blacks get the same Berkeley degrees as other students? If so, they should NOT hold a separate ceremony!!!!
From Wash. Examiner 2 years ago (!)....more than three dozen colleges and universities are holding graduation events this summer to recognize groups based on race, gender and sexual orientation.
Columbia University, Harvard University, Ohio State University, Illinois State University and the University of Texas at Austin are among those offering special ceremonies for Black graduates.
Yale University, Dartmouth College and the University of Michigan will hold special ceremonies for Asian and American Indian graduates.
Other schools are hosting special graduations to recognize LGBTQ....

So, Cal - Berkeley, when will be Whites only graduation, the Asian graduation, the Alaskan Pacific Islanders graduation, the native American graduation, Hispanic graduation and the People of 2 or more races graduation will be?
Less than 200 Blacks will graduate in a class numbered in the thousands.
Understood. Well, the ones who want to graduate without segregating themselves. They might have been inoculated before they got to Berkeley, or might stand a chance if they don’t think separate graduations makes any kind of sense.
And George Wallace has been proven right about Segregation, except the calls for segregation are coming from the black students.

Saying “black Americans” is an oxymoron. If you are an American, you have put your genetics aside and pledged allegiance to a country that welcomes all who will be American.
One of my business partner is black and we kid him about fried chicken and watermelon. His wife makes the best fried chicken. One day, he brought 4 watermelons and enough fried chicken for all of us. I love all 3 of those collard greens are good, too...

So what?
Some of blacks find living among whites intolerable. They are a separate nation. Demanding that they become like whites in order to live in peace is wrong.
The separateness you sense is cultural and corrosive. There is considerable indoctrination and a dehumanizing echo in the black community—black lives matter but not when killed by each other, etc. It’s both an overreaction to past wrongs and an exercise in profiteering on misery. It’s an echo of the plantation mindset. Blacks are taught from early days they are victims and unable to thrive on their own, can only get by through the kindness of a benevolent government or resorting to crime. There’s huge profit and political power in pitting people against one another. The shadow of slavery and Jim Crow is alive and well in the Democrat Party but these days it’s a trojan horse, dressed up in the deception of visibility, respect, BLM & wokeness. Evil wearing a seductive face has a long history with humanity.
All you have to do to fight this is have all the whites say “Good...we didnt’ want your kind walking with us anyways.”
